wait ans wait in Thailand and you will get away with everything... How is it possible that such a hugh amount of money doesn't nee dto be paid.. Reduction would be fine but no payment........ Shameful as so many people live in poverty because of these greedy wealth. And that party/family would be the next Government???  They should be banned for life, although Thailand was better when he was PM but his own growing wealth was far more better for him.

My mind/memory is fuzzier by the day, but wasn't that whole stock transfer etc the reason given for the coup? So now all is forgiven and he can take his rightfully elected place back at the table. Or trough,

What does this mean: "The court also ruled that the former prime minister was not regarded as an earner of taxable income according to the law, hence, the department’s tax assessment for the payment of 17 billion baht in back taxes and interest was unlawful and ordered tax appraisal to be withdrawn by the department."

Also, no money actually has left the Shin's hands, has it?

....and what of the always lovely Yingluck?

Keeping a very low profile over the last few years.

Perhaps there's a hidden agenda to sneak her in the back way.

Are his children allowed to come to Thailand?

Yes.

Two [his eldest] are not on the blacklist and reside here.

And of course, politically active.

He is the democratically leader of Thailand. He has more right  to be in power than the current military junta. He was an excellent  leader without the airport and RTS would not have been completed. He medical  and welfare  policies were fair and reasonable and he was no more corrupt than other Thai  leaders and less  corrupt  than subsequent uniformed  leaders. Thaksin  was a great  leader
