Yes.  Waste more billions taxpayers baht on Military equipment that will never be used?   Is China  poised to invade Thailand?   Sheesh!

Pointless really when there is no-one here able to pilot them properly.......

Of course they should ....  along with the submarines.

Just who the hell are they going to fight with these two aircraft?? The war will start at smoko and be over by lunchtime.

Same situation in Australia. The armed forces lack lethality. They have some really high tech stuff, but only two of each...

stealth and networking aircraft requiring high maintenance are not required. why pay the extra for them. buy proven latest block  aircraft u can maintain.

Tom cruise would say something along the lines of…

If y’all gonna fly jets, may as well fly the best ????

Another questing worth asking: If you were in line for a huge 'big face' demonstration, along with lots and lots of money in your secret bank account, would you make sure the deal got as close to the final stages of agreement as possible?

Are they getting engines with them?

Sounds more like a shill game. The US has not offered them for sale. There are strong reasons why the US would not sell F-35's to Thailand. Moreover this 2nd burst of enthusiasm from Thailand about the F-35's  comes at the same time as the Pelosi visit to Formosa, dust up.

A Public Relations game(?) Setting up the US to say NO & refuse to sell them to Thailand. In which case the Thai government can tell the Thai people; see they're not our ally, the celestial dragon is our real daddy. Likely the reason why the US refuses to issue a public comment. Playing games Thais like to play. They do think themselves 'tricky'.

If Thailand really wants a plane, the Saab Gripen is excellent, and far more affordable.

As it stands, it's 16-2 against the government buying the jets, seems about right.

Of course they should try to buy, there are people (generals) reaching retirement age and need the funds to live a comfortable life in retirement! ???? Whether they are needed or not is irrelevant!

Not only should they not but U. S.  Should not sell.

Two jets doesn't help much.

I wouldn't trust the high tech equipment of this regime and its cozy relationships with Russia and China,

I'm sure America will postpone any transfers until later.

This puny little country needs:

1) Drones (get them fromTurkey, as they theirs are quite useful right now in Ukraine),

2) Helicopters,

3) Refurb A10S.

Yes, the very best that Volkswagen makes.

No, like the submarines, they are a totally unnecessary purchase.....and from the endless series of problems that the F-35 has no a very good purchase either. One suspects that there are other 'reasons' for such a purchase.

Do they make a submersible version?yea rite what on earth for a big waste of money imo that money could be used for something that benefits Thailands people

Should they ... NO, voted such

expensive POS, not needed since neighbors have nothing on that threat level.

Selfish thought ... hell YEA, buy everything & anything as long as it affects the exchange rate positively for ME ME ME ????

Like they say, Up to Them .Nothing to do with Us.
