• Eight counters in rows C-D for outgoing Thai passport holders.

• Two counters in Zone 2 rows J-K for outgoing foreign passport holders.

• Two check-in counters in rows L-M

• Three counters in Zone 3 rows S-T for foreign passport holders.

Where is the Elite Visa rows or those for over 60?

Zones are entry gate areas.

1 to 8 i recall.

Check in desks start at A .

Entry point one.

The automatic self Check in terminals are already in use.

Scan passport.

And print your own tickets etc.

Put your own bag on the conveyer.

Heaps of assistance standing around.

Word of warning.

If 20kg baggage you will get 0.5kg over allow.

If more.

Repack or go to a manual check in for assistance and probably get charged excess baggage.

* You can drop and check in any time.

I was 6 hours before the flight last week.

There's only one terminal at Suvarnabhumi, so I don't know where they think "Terminal 4" is. I've also never heard of this type of system being at the check-in area, and having separate local and foreign zones - in most airports, everyone's boarding pass, regardless of nationality, is simply scanned as you enter security.

As an Elite member I am met and escorted directly to IO/Customs without ever queueing both on entry and exiting LOS.

I guess this means departing passengers will find the process is slower.

Stupid question I know, but has anyone done a stress test on the system?

Seeing as BKK has only one terminal where exactly is Terminal 4?  Does nobody proof read these things any more?  An appalling article which gives utterly confusing information.  Seriously what's the point?

Terminal 4???

The last time I flew, back in the halcyon pre-pandemic days of 2019, Swampy only had one terminal. Did they really build three more terminals over the last few years, and how do you know which one your flight goes from as my current ticket to fly out next weekend doesn't mention a terminal?

There is still only one terminal.

I had a quick trip to KL and back last week and found the departure from Suvarnabhumi quite quick and efficient.

Just a visual check of boarding pass and passport to enter the Departure zone. Re entry permit process quick, hand baggage/body scanner included belt, watch, shoes, laptop and power banks out, bit more thorough than KL end, small queue for Immigration.

on return, hand baggage scanned at KLIA departure lounge, Immigration queue at Bangkok quite short and desks well staffed.

If tourist numbers increase may be different, but well done so far.

I would certainly agree with you as I left on Thursday to go to Singapore and had a similar experience.
