Loved this comment…. Not for the political implication, but for the ascension beyond in using the overtly obvious in such unavoidably timely fashion and then doing so, so simply with a followed up RIP

  • She truly understood the  meaning of duty and quietly played that role throughout our lives, earning our love and respect consequently. I can't imagine the UK without her

Poor Charles, waited all his life for this, and now he may very well abdicate in favour of William. I guess we'll have to see if he actually has the ceremony or not.

It would cost a lot of money for him to become king ( bank notes, stationary etc ) and would likely be only a few years.

William is the better choice, and he's popular as well, but I always doubted it was going to change as long as she was alive.

How little you understand about the British monarchy. The hereditary principle is sacrosanct and in any case the question of popularity is barely relevant.I would go further and argue that the British monarchy is the opposite of celebrity. It's based - at its best - on self denial, duty and service.Elizabeth epitomized this and Charles and William both understand it.

There’s not been one event in recent times that wasn’t either surreal or tragic. The Queen’s death is no exception. My sympathies to her family, the Kingdom and her countless admirers across the globe. We are certainly not the better for her passing. Long live the King. ????❤️????

Why would anyone be even remotely concerned with the least significant of the royals at this particular time? For the love of Dog, the Queen’s just died. Give the pettiness a moment’s rest.

Let’s hope the Ginger and the Whinger keep out of the spotlight .

but I’m sure, the Whinger is already trying to work out how to make a buck or gain some sympathy.

I give them a week, then Ginger and the Gingers Whinger will issue a statement about how his grief is so much worse than everyone elses' and the attacks on the royal family will escalate because "they kept them apart from Granny". Got to justify the paychecks from netflx.

A very sad day.

Queen Elizabeth dedicated her life to her country, her people and the commonwealth, she has been lived the very definition of duty and device and duty.

One constant in the lives of millions through ever changing times.

Rest in peace.

Long live the King.

What?

Do you think the Royal family read Thaivisa and somehow the truth will be upsetting?

These 2 ex royals have done more harm to the Monarchy, and probably the queens health in a few years than Chuck and Randy Andy.

It is always the right time to speak the truth.

To correct you.

Hearing the sad news of the death of a much loved and greatly admired person, is a perfect example of when the only thing you should say is respectful of that person’s memory, or do the decent thing and say nothing.

Just shows how fast it can go. Only 48 hours ago she has been pictured meeting Truss

Yes, she drove ambulances in London during the Blitz risking her life to save the lives of her fellow countrymen.  Please enlighten us on what you have done selflessly for others.

RIP your majesty, Queen Elizabeth.

she kept her word right to the end and reigned over the country until the day she died, never giving up regardless of health or age. I am sure she’ll be missed by countless people the world over.

The New York Times, February 7th 1952.  Truman was the US President, Churchill was the UK Prime Minister, Elizabeth became Queen.  Even if for no other reason - though there is far, far, more that she did, and should be mourned for - no other world leader links that period with the present.  We have lost an enormous piece of history.

Although the words of this song were written in memory of Tom Jones' wife, I think the words encapsulate the feelings of a country to the late Queen.

Final nail in the UK coffin?

End of the Era of peace?

After Brexit, economic collapse, and war in Europe, we're back to square one before she became Queen.

Not a single word of condolence, or of empathy for her family and a nation in mourning  ……

… classless

Regardless of what you think of him, Boris Johnson made a statement that sums up how I feel.  A piece of the UK itself died today.

Rest in peace, Queen Elizabeth II.
