Do you think it's morally right?

Featured Replies

Occasionally watch Tik Tok and Facebook,a couple of things concerned me.

These "do gooders" who go around supposedly catching pedophiles.

These ones were in the UK and they set up a old guy in his 60's who allegedly was conversing online with a 16yo girl who was really the man of the pedophile group .

Now I always thought 16 was the legal age in the UK but I'm not sure what this particular guy was doing but the conversation they had with him whilst filming and waiting for the police was interesting.

The woman "do gooder" who was restraining him too asked him about where in Asia he had been and does he sleep with girls there too ?

Now then I go to a Tik tok video to see a large fat American woman from a church showing a video of a farang in Bangkok holding hands with a bar girl who looked in her 20's before the large American woman exclaims ," disgusting absolutely disgusting!

And is it ? Is it disgusting a older man going out with a 18yo girl, actually the law in Australia says 16 so is that morally wrong ?

It must be really sad for all those women that guys don't want them but instead opt for young, sexy and beautiful. I understand why those women don't like reality. But it's their problem.

Personally I think the age difference does not make it disgusting.

I think it's all about consent. I.e. if a 18 year old girl is sold by her family to have sex with an old guy then that is obviously wrong. But that is also wrong if the girl is sold to a young guy. And it's also wrong if the girl is a woman, maybe disabled, and sold like that.

As long as the age is above the legal age in that country then, as far as I see, it the age is no issue.

Now about the morals - obviously a more difficult issue: Let's assume an older (how old is that?) guy takes a legal age girl out of a bar and he lives with her, and he is nice to her and takes care of her. Is that so bad? The alternative for her would have been maybe working for years in bars with constantly many different guys. And likely at least some of those guys would not be nice to her. Would that be better for the girl?

Obviously, in an ideal work she would grow up with her loving parents and go to school and get a proper job and marry the love of her life. But this is real life.

Personally, I saw old guys being nice to young (and legal) girls and it seems the girls didn't have a problem with that. I also saw a guy, who seems to be a sadist, going to bars and beating up some older women in those bars who are probably desperate to make any money at all. Those older women agree to that treatment, they get paid for it. And maybe a week later they do it again with the same guy. For me, that is a serious problem - and I also don't have a solution.

Should have asked her how old Joseph and Mary were!

I think a couple of things get con-twined here.

Now we can all argue the facts of the law regarding age of consent

Morality thats kinda rooted in your upbringing, probably a lot to do with religion

But then there is just plain creepy, a non defined state of affairs.

But I'm sorry, legal is may be, justified within your own moral compass, but...

I can't help finding it totally creepy seeing some old guy hand in hand with a girl young enough to be his daughter or often granddaughter, with the idea that they are having sex.

Sorry can't go there

Most religions seem to approve young women plus old men.

Joseph and Mary were a bit iffy, but Mohammed took it a step too far.

But she must have been a bit of a slapper as Joseph never did it.

More power to the "do gooders" , catch them all, by any means.

The OP says the do gooders were talking to a 60 + man as a 16 year

old girl , I doubt that ,why would they say they are 16 when that's the

age of consent , if you want to trap pedo's ,you have to pose as younger

girl or boy.

Both my Thai wives were/is young enough to be my daughter when we met, without even starting a family young.

45 / 22

51 / 29

I was usually 5 - 15 yrs older than woman I dated/married in USA also.  Less gap since younger myself, under 45 before moving to TH.

Which would mean that fat lady on Facebook didn't even know what the P word means.

Is the law the moral compass ?

an 18 year average asian look and act like an 12 year little girl in my eyes and that put me off. Same goes for most western women below 25 and now talking from the viewpoint of an man 35 - 40 when I did have alot of media and exposure to myself, and often hit on by younger girls of same reasons.

I guess the moral thing is to know the reasons you are in the position to exploit younger girls and if you have any morally issues concerned that, next the society around you which in best case is not existing for most here in Thailand.

That might be, especially if you feel victimized by women all your life, then it can be a true feeling. Still it is not the Reality

If the age is legal and the man is hi eat about his age with the girl..plus it's all content then no problems and morally fine.

If the 60 year old man was grooming the girl online, lying about his age, pretending to be a teenager, or luring her into a trap, then obviously it's very wrong and he is a sexual predator...but not a pedophile.

There was no girl ....... this was a middle aged man pretending he was a girl.

I bet he wasn't a Pakistani.

I wonder how many of the people here who criticize young girl old guy relationships have any experience with them or at least a friend or two who is in such a relationship.

By now my gf is already a little older but she was pretty young (and legal) when we got together. I was proud of my cute girlfriend and treated her like a princess. And she liked the idea to be treated like a princess. And obviously lots of her friends were jealous that she didn't have to work and has a sponsor.

Would she have been happier with a young guy her own age? Maybe. But if that guy would be a Thai guy, then it is unlikely that he would make much money at that age. That means not much money for holiday and nice food and going out and spending money - having fun.

It is up to each girl what she does. Some like older guys who have the money to take care of them and others like a bf and work. Or maybe both at the same time. It's their choice and not all people think the same what they want to do with their life.

What you describe is fair enough, and many girls do not have any other options or better options. On the other half, there is girls coming in to the foreigner trade with dreams of what your girl have, and is it  50-50 they manage to succeed, or do many ending up meeting the wrong guys, abused, and used ? Who in the end become abusive themselves and give experiences so many who complain and have negative feelings against women after being ripped off again, and again. Never ending roundabout.

What is the success rate of young girls? Many ending up in bad relationships out of many reasons, and not only one way the man or the girls fault, but to big differences, alcoholics, poor foreigner, bad health etc.

Worst cases they ending up selling themselves at bars and massages even married.

I know girls have been happy with older man, I know girls was happy with older man, but at once they could divorce in their new destination, they moved in with new younger man the next day.

The success stories is with educated partner, and wealthy enough to contribute to their families, and not to big age difference. Big age difference works best living in Thailand.

I agree.

And anything what I wrote above is only my opinion about Thailand.

Living happily with any Thai person outside of Thailand is definitely a much bigger challenge.

Morality - 555

Another excuse for exercising control over others.

Think you can find it in the Legal system ? Religion ? Gov't ?

Think those in power have any morality - Big Pharma, Big Oil, Big Anything ?

Paedos - put them in GenPop. Problem solved.

It seems you think because some people and systems are not moral there should be no moral standards - except of the paedos of course.  Interesting.

I think morality is very much a personal thing.

It is something you feel and something you do - and not because 'Society' lays down a bunch of rules that they themselves do not even follow.

"To Thine Own Self Be True"

So no moral standard needed because everyone have their own moral compass they follow?

This is what I think

Feel free to think whatever you want

And who decides the 'moral compass' ?

What is best for the society will and should be the norm.

you do not want your daughters becoming a prostitutes

You do notvwant your kids to abuse drugs and other substances as well become an alcoholic

You do not want them to steal, rape or murder and end in jail

you want them to be happy, and to be happy people need to believe in something, and something that is good for society. Some end up as Liverpool fans, and look up to them as heroes, others? Musk, the gypsy King, or Obama. Others become religious, while others get lost and even flat earthers.

So, today confusion seems to be the biggest problem with to much information flying around as truths, maybe human kind is best off with fairytales?

Again - Who decides ?

War, famine, pestilence, greed - all been around since there were more than 1 person on Earth.

So 'Morality' ain't been doing a very good job has it ?

of course it's sick and disgusting.   18 is a child.   21 in Thailand is just barely not a child

the falang has mental issues if the girl is 18, but I completely understand looking at an 18 year old girl.  not going to lie about that.

but the big question is........if American and the girl is 17 anywhere in the world, you can go to American jail.  Every American knows American laws exist when holding an American passport.  if illegal, jail for sure. your country, your rules.

morally right?  no.  it's wrong even if 18 and the guy is over like 35.   morally wrong.   of course it will be "fun" for a short time, but it's still morally wrong.  but that's up both of them, and whatever......i'm sure it's fun until it's not.

a guy has a screw loose if he chases 18 year olds.....again, not a bad thing, but nobody (including himself) will really look at him and thing he's normal.

I think 30 is too young, but I'll chase 30.  I'll chase 29.   18-28 is simply something laughable and I'm not chasing that.

If you are honest with yourself, if the girl is over 18 then after your fun what are you really going to do together?  absolutely nothing.

I'd judge a guy with an 18 year old, but 100% keep it to myself if I'm not friends with the guy.  Really it's their decision, so whatever.
