Phuket, Thailand-Tourism leaders in Phuket have been speaking to the Thai government and airline industry executives to attempt to find solutions for what they say are expensive domestic flights.

 

According to Mr. Poomkit Raktae Ngam, Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Phuket Tourism Business Association, tourism leaders are fairly pleased with a rebound in international tourism and foreign tourists, especially from Russia, India, Malaysia, Australia, and other nearby counties.

 

The Phuket Express wrote earlier today about predictions on rapidly increasing Russian tourism but Poomkit’s main concern is domestic tourism, not international.

If they would make sure the Phuket taxi mafia doesn't overcharge at least 200% that would make a bigger difference. 

There's no where to stay, Russians have scooped up the vacancies.........

I would prefer high prices but without cancellation lottery followed by 6 months of waiting for a refund.

Air Asia MEGA Sale today for travel 1st May 23 onwards.....is more expensive than their current overpriced fares....????

Never paid that much for a one-way from Suvarnabhumi to Khon Kaen in 11 years.

 

The flight TO Suvarnabhumi:

rescheduled to a later time three days ahead.

Another reschedule 3 hours! before rescheduled time.

Still late to this 2nd reschedule.

Heaven thanks I didn't have a connecting flight.

 

My trust in Thaismile suffered a lot.

I don't think flight prices are a problem. The taxi mafia costs a lot more than airfares. Why not start there?
