Siam Rath reported on a gruesome murder outside the Wiangsra Crown Prince Hospital in Wiang Sa, Surat Thani, southern Thailand yesterday.

A 44 year old building contractor called Somporn was gunned down while driving his Isuzu pick-up.

There were 22 bullet holes in the vehicle and evidence on the road of shots from both 9 mm and 0.45 mm weapons.

Mem, Somporn's wife, said that a week ago her husband was drunk and had told her there was a 3 million baht bounty on his head and three people wanted him dead.

She dismissed it as drunken talk at first but still told him to take care nonetheless. She believed it to be a business conflict.

Police said that the deceased dealt in satellite dishes and was a building contractor and was on his way to a work site when he was ambushed.

There were at least two assailants who had been in a Toyota Vios.

They are keeping and open mind as to the motive for the murder.

You do understand that he's dead, right?

  • 0.45mm? that's an awfully small round.

How odd......watched Jack Reacher last night and he took at least 400+ rounds in his car.....not a scratch (him, not the car).

If I was him I wouldn't be ironing a shirt for Monday.

Naahh, they did as the saw in the movies: never aim while you empty your magazine.

Well, he's not wrong.  He wouldn't be ironing a shirt for Monday if he was the man in the article. ????

The way it's worded implies the person in question has a choice of whether to iron a shirt or not. He doesn't.

they don't have magazines in the movies, they have "clips". Clips that magically never empty.

I used clips to load the magazine when it was on a rifle...but they were mags if they were attached to or part of the weapon. Never used a clip to.load a pistol magazine. Had quick re loader for revolvers, no clips...but that's not the point..

Actors are lazy, that's why.

Huh? Actors do what the director tells them to do and say what the script tells them to say.

Calling magazines "clips" and using a side grip for your "gat" is a gang thing and has subsequently made its way into the mainstream. But by the sounds of it you ain't "OG" ????

I've actually seen a contractor shot at.  Lot's of shoddy and crooked Contractors out there. People don't take kindly to being taken advantage of.

I think I'm going to sell my Isuzu, it's not safe enough against bullets.

In movies the driver is always alive.

No, I'm not an obese geezer.

Do you think there are enough spectators watching?

Could his wife perhaps do it for him?

(Just thought I might join in the nonsense!)

I missed that, how shocking! What happened to journalistic standards? The editor must be on the on Lao Khao or the Ya Dong.

He must have had the Napoleon syndrome as well, I would have gone into hiding if knowing that.

Brazen attack in a very public place.

I assume it was during daytime

I would hazard the killers weren't street hoodlums.
