Thai Rath reported from Sri Racha where a man named only as "Khun Ti" has scooped 144 million baht on the lottery, the higest win of the year.

The lucky winner bought eight tickets with the number 375805 from Kong Salak Plus netting 48 million baht.

This money was delivered to him in cash by Kong Salak Plus executive Nott Phanthawat Nakwisut yesterday following the draw on Thursday.

The winner won't have to pay tax on this.

Khun Ti said he divined the numbers from joss-sticks after he went to the temple to pray.

He also won 96 million baht via digital lottery means.

So what does he plan to do with the winnings?

He said it would be going in the bank as well as using some to make merit.

Isn't rather suspicious that he won 44M on the Thai lottery AND 96m on the online lottery in the same draw. Or am I reading it incorrectly? Nobody is that lucky!

  • You can buy tickets from vendors or online via a website, its the same lottery, the same tickets. If you wanted more than the tickets the vendor has, then you would need to buy online. vendors do

  • When asked what he will do about the begging letters he said he would keep sending them!

Tried registering, but it wants to be in USD, no good for me.

I shall continue buying paper tickets at Lotus every 1st & 16th.

Are you sure this is the official site? I just tried the app Paotung. With this it should be possible. But sadly everything in Thai only.

There are several agents that sell online, and some specialize in selling outside of Thailand. The Thai agents do everything in Thai baht.

This site is in english and points to the various agents

When asked what he will do about the begging letters he said he would keep sending them!

So how many tickets would he have bought to win Bht 144M? I guess 24 if the top prize is Bht 6M per ticket. At Bht 80 per ticket, not a bad investment.

is it still possible to rig the win by foul means ?

named only as "Khun Ti" ..

Doesn't really make any difference what's his name is, his photo is enough to be identified ????

I guess he's the one on the left in the photos - why isn't he smiling?

Its terrible. Euromillions is almost the same price per ticket and yet 40x the jackpot. Its almost as if the Thai lottery is a swindle.

Why?  The digital Thai lottery is legal.    You guessed wrong.

Yes, sorry I did not know that you can buy tickets online if your local vendor does not have sufficienct of your chosen number, or wants over Bht 80 per ticket.

So odd that the Thai Lottery in which 99.99% of customers are Thais should only be in Thai.

Not a bad investment, but if he has been doing that twice a month, 3.8k a month. Thats getting up near half a low paid Thai's monthly wage.

46K a year, I wonder how many years he has been "investing" ?
