We don't need to run to a specialist for every little thing. A low level antihistamine, available from all Pharmacies, would be a good first step, ENT, the last step. It is a continuous runny nose over a long time . So does nto sound like dust or hay fever. Morel likely nasal polyp.

Maybe the polyps got stuck up there after doing too many PCR tests, I think we should just go for amputation of the nose really.
thepadol
For those who suffer it's no laughing matter and is extremely frustrating not to mention tiring. The term allergy is correct in the general sense of being a reaction, but it is important to classify the symptom. Running nose is a common factor. Seasonal allergies and those related to plants, animals, chemicals, etc are typically accompanied by eye irritation as in red eyes and tears. Sneezing occurs. Most people associate sneezing and runny noses with this form of allergies. It's the body that is reacting. A different type is when there is rhinitis and running nose occurs without warning and can be with clear fluid. However there is no eye irritation. It can occur more frequently in specific conditions such as indoor vs outdoor. It is an allergic reaction but it is more like the nose itself that is reacting and not the body in general. Since allergies with all these reactions occur frequently with people and there are no simple ways to narrow it down quickly, most doctors prescribe medication that works across the spectrum. Unfortunately this isn't so great for those who suffer the latter condition rather than former. The medications typically have ingredients that combat rhinorrhea (runny nose) and decongestants for stuffy nose. In simple terms antihistamines and others for rhinitis. Most also include ingredients that can cause drowsiness, etc. For those in the latter group what is most effective is something azelastine which is defined as a receptor blocking medication with antihistamine properties. Normally a nasal spray. When used regularly it has a rapid effect on reducing or eliminating the runny nose. Usually effective for about 12 hours. No oral medication is needed. Probably the best practice is twice a day nasal wash followed by azelastine. In rare cases it can be a condition of leakage of the brain fluid but this should be accompanied by other symptoms. If azelastine shows no effect or improvement then maybe it might be a possibility. I'm not a doctor, just a person who has fought this condition and have found relief in some form.

nrasmussen
I did have a similar problem for a long time and had to take an antihistamine tablet several times a week. In the hope that it might help, I got an air purifier and it certainly did make a huge difference! During the three weeks since I got it, only once have I needed an antihistamine tablet.

MrJ2U
It seems the same for our entire family once cold season starts along with the burning. We have antihistamines to help alleviate the runny nose but it sometimes instigates dry cough for the kids.
rumak
When i went to the ENT I had a very unusual problem. But thankfully I went to the best specialist available . phetphet
I can go one better. I have a runny nose on one side only. The other always seems partially blocked. Years ago, I saw a doctor and she diagnosed Chronic Rhinitis and gave me a nasal spray that didn't do anything. All that post for a reported runny nose? Too many people around here seem to be in fear of their lives, or hypochondriacs, or more likely a combination of both. I still can't really believe that the OP posted because of a runny nose. If I had let my 3 kids off school, or taken to the doctor, for a runny nose, before I had taken steps in self medication, I would rightly have been criticized by that same doctor. Morel likely nasal polyp. I had this and went to an ENT dr. He prescribed a powder solution to put in water and squirt up the nose and antibiotics. When I paid for the pills at bumrungrad and collected them I was surprised about how many the dr allocated me. Pharmacist asked me if Im on other medication which I stated yes (heart pills). Turns out I could not take my pill with the one prescribed. They gave me a 5k refund. Moral to the story is that one should tell the dr to write down the pill name on paper and tell them that you will buy it elsewhere.
