God is neither male nor female': Church of England is considering gender-neutral terms

Featured Replies

The Church of England is considering whether to stop referring to God as "he" after questions concerning the use of gender-neutral terms were raised by priests.

The topic, which has been discussed by those who follow the Christian faith for many years, is being explored by two commissions in a new joint project.

The project has been launched in response to a question asked by Rev Joanna Stobart, vicar of Ilminster and Whitelackington in Somerset at synod, who wished for an update on "more inclusive language" in Church of England services and to refer to God in a "non-gendered way".

Perhaps Jesus will be next to get that treatment, and I can just imagine all of the statues/images/icons of the man Jesus being altered to see him wearing perhaps a skirt or something like that, or carrying a handbag – – whatever next, but then again as JVS has suggested, perhaps the bible as a whole should be cancelled.

Why wouldn’t they be, ‘the woke world’ is itself a righting fabrication.

Probably as accurate as any can be, since most mentions of Jesus is 300 yrs after his death.????

Maybe one at 55 and one at 125 yrs 'after' death.  And with a life expectancy of 25-33 yrs old back then, that's 2 to 4 whole generations of BS to be passed on.

Can we please move the Bible to the fiction section of the library ????

Too many facts? Really?

Just as I suspected, GOD was non-binary:

Genesis 1:27

New International Version

27 So God created mankind in his own image,
    in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.

There is no God so it's a moot point.

The first Bible wasn’t written in English, and in any case what became the first written texts were previously oral stories and poems.

The New International Version is way down the line of translations and versions.

The transmission, recording, translation, editing and re-editing of the Bible has almost certainly undertaken by men.

So I wouldn’t put too much faith on your ‘his own image’ revelation.

And most things in the religious world are way too bizarre to have been made up but yet billions of people are brainwashed from childhood to believe all sorts of absurd ridiculous religious garbage. Some go out and try and kill other equally brainwashed people who by pure accident of where they were born believe another version of the nonsense....If u were born in India you were brainwashed Hindu, Italy Catholic, Bagdad, Muslim,  England Protestant , Haiti voodoo, Thailand Buddhist and on and on....never seems to occur to all the religious fanatics that what they believe to their very core has more to do with where they happened to be born and brainwashed  than any other single factor.  Religious zealots however of course think that they alone have seen the "truth".
