Would you rather have a Farang or Thai wife/girlfriend?

There are many posts here that are not so flattering of Farang ladies, while others are not exactly fond of Thai ladies.

So let's take a vote!

 

Not meant to negatively stereotype or be discriminative towards either group of course. Personally I love both. This is just for some lighthearted discussion.

Not really to do with the ladies, more to do with our governments outbidding us for their attentions with welfare and asset stripping.

Why buy when you can rent?  no point coming here then having a farang wife or GF is there? Thailand is a playground - enjoy it!

But if you rent, then that's a GF, even if it's short-term. Note that I deliberately said wife/GF.

Bad humour on my part I'm not that callous. But I have chosen not to have any permanent partner here and I am open and honest about that - happy to support a little when required. Each to his own - good luck.

Wokeness, not for me, it's either male, female or other and it make little difference to me as I treat everyone the same - provided I'm treated with due respect in return.

Most I know have had farang wives and not have Thai ones. 

I think most, if honest, would prefer a farang one, but they are past their sell by date and can only get attractive Thai ones. 

 

I prefer Farang:

 

-No secret cultural code to crack

-No relatives wanting money

-Can talk about various stuff and agree that Somtum is goot -at the same time

-more mental in bed

 

Caveat:

The kind of Thai women who would fill the bill above, I could not get. The intra-Asian competition would squash me like like like a bug. I had an arty, slightly intellectual GF prospect over here for like an hour and half. And I blew it.

 

Neither: they're all trouble.

Well male/female relationships are always complicated.

 

My American wife was half Jamaican, so with my Thai wife I guess my predilection is obviously for dusky maidens.

 

Are there major differences between them, I don't think so.

 

Both strong willed women, both ruled our kids with iron, made them the men and women they are today, ruled me with a rod of iron!

 

Major difference between the two, my Thai wife screams louder!! 

Whichever can make the best sandwich!!

A woman's body & mind can adapt to celibacy very easily. For us, it's a serene way to live.

 

Especially since around 2000, when high speed internet brought digital pornography into the home of every western couple. Pornography kills the relationship, and women know it. Governments turn a blind eye.

 

Many women prefer to be single and self supporting than to try to relate to a partner with this digital junk in his head. Statistics on male pornography use in the west are astounding. Used in the last month, 86%. In the last week, 46%. In the last day, 25%.

 

So, government response to pornography is an important element, in addition to what you mentioned... no-fault divorce, welfare state, and asset stripping in property settlements.

 

Interestingly, educated young THAI girls notice the way my generation of western women live, and they want the same thing. "I'll never get married"... Several gorgeous Bangkok girls in their 20s have proudly told me this.

On a somewhat serious note, I do worry about the effect of pornography today, but not for men, more for boys.

 

I don't think it's a stretch to say that for many of us sex ed was rooting through Dad's sock draw for his porn stash.

 

Thing was back then it was a lot more vanilla and for a lot of it even the teenage male brain could tell it was staged.

 

Not so sure about that today, and I fear that what a lot of what those boys watch online gives them a very misleading idea of what is regular sex versus fantasy.

 

It's not that I would want to restrict porn, I think as an adult I can distinguish reality and fantasy, but not so sure a 15 year old boy can make that distinction
