It is easy in europe to if you lower your standard or pay for it. It is exactly the same in Thailand, but most do not reckonenize they do, because of the language and the social culture they do not understand.

 

What we think are pretty, is most likely not thai standard, and the social intelligence we accept, is most likely not on pair with Thai acceptance. Remember back when single moms was off the record for decent families, not that long ago, and most here was teenagers then. You loved to do them, but you could not bee together with them.

It depends on the individual woman.

Women want security for the most part. Maybe Thai women would think a western man with minimalist income is a good catch.  But a western woman would not.  
It’s not because a western woman is a gold digger.  It’s because a  western woman for the most part wants someone that succeeded in life. 
If you want someone subservient hire a maid.  

It matters not to me where they come from or their race - i only go for those with whom I believe there can be compatibility in love and everyday life.

 

I have had a farang wife for 47 years with incredible qualities and I would choose the same woman again.

 

My current wife is Thai and she also has wonderful qualities that suit me just about 100%. Oh, and I know she thinks equally of me! And I have good reason to believe it for ever!

 

But I don't claim to know the future,

I love women, but some of us are just meant to be alone and not develop relationships.  I have tried it 3 times. 2 wives (one mid-western white & one Thai) and 1 'girlfriend' from Louisiana (suppose to stay friends, I fell, but never had sex, just my heart was hers, it broke????????).  I think I'll not make those mistakes anymore... to old for that nonsense... unless she's got money (and I'm not shopping). ????????

Divorced in USA in 2007. She had a sign on her desk that read, “A woman without a man is like a fish without a bicycle”. Here in Thailand, I confess, it is like stepping back in time. Male is responsible for financial security, woman takes care of her man. At my age (76) having a wife 26 years my junior works for me.

I've lived in Asia for 49 year and after dating quite a few Asian woman and knowing lots of friends who've dated and married them, I am happy to say that my GF (who I met in Bangkok) is not Asian.

I better tell my Thai wife she should have no interest in me because I am 41 years older than her. We have only been living a full life together for 7 years complete with plenty of good sex so perhaps it is too early to tell if she is really interested in me. Never had a farang wife so I really can't comment from personal experience.  Met my Thai wife when she was a graduate student at the university we were both studying at.  Married for many years until she passed away much to early from cancer.

Happy with my Lao wife.

A bargirl I have know for many years is pressing me to be her boyfriend. A tough decision.

 

She lies about everything, and drinks herself into oblivion every night. She has a full time Farang customer who pays her by the month. She tries to ignore him. She has a Thai husband who makes 330 baht a day (she lives with him).

 

One time I left Thailand for a few weeks, she professed her undying love as I left. Within a week, she was engaged to a new customer.

 

Needless to say, I don't take her seriously. In fact, I am going with her sister, which makes her crazy.

 

The lesson: no need for a Thai girlfriend, you can have 2 or more.

I think,

Those of us who moved to Thailand have no further need for porn, as we can do the real thing ourselves.

After several goes with both Thai and Western, I'd rather have neither and play the field as long as I'm able. Much cheaper too - you can get a maid for less than a wife costs and some maids come with benefits. When you want a change or a newer model, you just get a new one. ????

The problem is that Thai ladies are bored with a Farang after a few days unless a pot of big money is imminent.

My wife is basically American, went to Chicago to live with aunt and uncle after both her her parents died.

 

College in the US before going back to Asia.

 

She from Isaan, very clearly Lao, I think she's beautiful, but she'll happily tell you that not a single Thai man of her intellectual equal would even look at her because of her Lao appearance.

The FACT is... it is an exchange. There is no way a beautiful girl 20 or 30 year younger than the old farang is going to be with him if there is no security or money. Any farang who thinks she's chosen him over the much younger and fitter Thai guy because she loves old men is fooling themselves. Having said that - who cares?

That's what I do - why not? as long as you are honest and respectful they expect it and enjoy it (just don't lie) and compensate them.

Probably just a phase she's going through. A bit harsh that, you need to give her a chance, she could eventually be a keeper.

It's not the junk in mens head.  That's been there since the dawn of time. Pornography too. 

 

However, females, seem very susceptible to believing the fakeness of IG lives as real life and think they should get to live the life of a queen (without realizing that while a queen has immense power, it comes with immense work and responsibility.). They don't want to put in that effort.  Or to give in order to get.

And while they have the looks, their DM's are filled daily by boys and men continuing to sell that dream, offer the world (fake promises), and while also deriding the current partner with 100% complete blind agreement and falsities thrown at the reigning man...so that they always have that back door escape even BEFORE marriage and all the financial rewards of marrying and divorcing as you mention.

I'm not advocating porn, but I'm saying that's not the variable that's changed, social media and the smart phone are the new ingredient that's, frankly, made the entire world worse imo, not just dating.

Think back you can to about only 8 years ago ish...how many less problems the world seemed to have, less hate, less adversity.  And that was when smartphones starting becoming popular.  FB already existed.  Even then, it took a few years for it to go from being a fun combo into a wicked combonation eliciting such hate a despair and division amoungst all people.

However, it  Doesn't mean I can't envy the lack of complexity in your life though.

Yes but I'm not saying there isn't a price to pay.  It would have been nice if one of my past relationships had worked but there comes a time when you have to say enough is enough and find a different way.  It took me far to long to learn that.

 

At the moment I'm enjoying it but who knows what will happen next week, next month or next year? I doubt it though ????.
