Popular Post georgegeorgia Posted March 11, 2023 Popular Post Posted March 11, 2023 This is mainly aimed at guys over 6o yo But ....the last few months I have went through a cancer scare where I was told my liver had cancer them later it turned out to be a fatty liver which is still can be terminal I'm told . And no cure Since this happened I have changed ,I have become a dilligaf person..,Do I look like I give a . .F That scare made me rethink my life and who I associate with and what I care about. In the last few months I have stopped association with toxic people. Went to a cafe today to meet up with a 67yo friend I hadn't seen for months ,he is still a full time worker and the anger coming from him in relation to his work started to take a toll on my ears , his anger was at his work shifts where he works shift work and no other work colleagues would swap him to his loved dsyshift . I could feel the the toxicity so I finally had to tell him...your 67 mate in 15 years you probably won't be here Well he shut up after that but I left Another toxic person was a bit younger 62yo he was angry at gay people and spewing venom and hate so I left too Even my work colleagues I used to speak to have been shunned by me because I'm not into drama anymore . One colleague I work with who is in his 50s tried to gossip about another colleague, he started telling me on my meal break "hey I found out why Rodney walks funny, did you know Rodney has a rash between his legs, he told me and apparently it smells ,! Why the f..K would I need to know about that and why does he care ? I have changed and now everyday is something you should be thankful for , life is not guaranteed, cancer ,car accident etc , something will get you eventually,so <deleted> become a DILLIGAF person Do I look like I give a F.... attitude is much better at over 60 . 7 3 3 1
473geo Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 For most I think this phase gently creeps in with sporadic use originally, becoming more frequent as the years tick over You appear to have flipped completely 'toxic' to me is a much over used 'in' word most of our friends and acquaintances will carry opinion(s) abrasive to our beliefs if we look hard enough, but wouldn't your new found dgaf allow you to ignore their idiosyncrasies and continue the friendship 1

I didn't know this word until now buy I have such an attitude since decades. Why waste your time with negative people at any age? Obviously most of us are from time to time in not such a good mood. So I am not dropping anybody if I saw him/her one time in a bad mood. But if this happens regularly, and if the person seems to have in general the attitude to blame anybody else for their misery, there is no point to continue any relation with such a person. 2 4

Popular Post nigelforbes Posted March 11, 2023 Popular Post Posted March 11, 2023 Fatty liver is easily treated. Two common causes are alcohol consumption or food (NAFL), both are easily treated by exercise, diet changes and reducing alcohol intake....been there, done that, it's not a biggee unless you do nothing. EDIT to add: I forgot, apparently another cause is excessive or long term use of artificial sweeteners. It seems the body doesn't know what to do with aspartame or perhaps its dietary fructose or sucrose (or similar) so it parks it on the liver, well you would, wouldn't you!. 2 2 1

Best diet, exercise, cut out the alcohol, etc. Avoid being a bad influence on others. 1

Fat is a type of crazy Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 In my job I have to give advice to staff and I often find myself thinking 'Please, for the love of god, cut to the chase, get to the point, no need to tell me every step of how you got here or how you feel about the situation'. It can flow through to my personal life too where when people wax lyrical or tell long stories I find myself saying that phrase or similar. So it is normal and you work out some are on your wavelength and some not.

Well to be fair, most Americans, and I being one of them, actually used to say "I couldn't care less", but then that is not correct as I have been told many a time here on these pages of many different OP's, but then do I even GAF, nope....

But maybe you don't want to be understood, which is fine. Your choice. 1 2
