I provided 3 months bank statements and a bank certificate including photocopying my savings bank account which from 2022 onwards (as it doesn't have many transactions) which showed my balance not dipping below the required amount. I was shocked when the officer said they wanted photocopies of every page in the book dating back to 2019!

Last year I didn't encounter this issue. Seems like extra tea money for the photocopying shop behind perhaps?

On another note, they don't accept children's ID as ID, you need to submit their birth certificates. Perhaps because the passport doesn't state the parents is the reason.

Bonkers

No point questioning it as it just reflects badly on you (me) and might negatively influence the decision so best just to accept, and smile (according to my wife) and not ask why it's required.....

More likely a lesson to not come next time without the "gift"  ????

I've never brought them a gift in over twenty three annual extensions, it seems to me the officer in question was simply being a jerk, because he could be.

She was very nice and polite, not a jobsworth at all (as was her younger colleague).

Interestingly due to Songkran holidays (I presume) I got more than 30 days under consideration. I must return on May 19th.

Exactly my thoughts. I am guessing the officer didn't know their own rules.....

One year an officer asked for every PP page copied even the blanks. Next year did that myself at home and handed over the bundle of copies only to be told I was wasting the officers time as he had to reject almost all of them, said last year they wanted them, he was not amused. You can never win with these jokers

Same with me!  The requirement is that you photocopy every page of your passport that has a Thai stamp so I did that this year only to be handed back about 30 pages of copies saying they weren't required....

I just wish they would be consistent so we know what to prepare. Nothing more annoying than being given back lots of paper they say isn't required or being told that you need to go and get more copies of something that isn't required according to their list of requirements... Good job it's only once a year!

For my 2020 extension I copied bankbook pages for the past year (which actually went back to 2018), not good enough had to copy the book back to 2014 (when I opened the account)

I am not joking here...... I prepare every page including the front cover of PP, one set in color, one in BW. I would always be asked for a color page from someone .  Same with the marriage Cert.   My last visit this week they asked to see the receipt of payment 1900. baht  from 2019  !   I had every single receipt  in my car at this time.   They were surprised when i returned with them.     They didn't have my 2019 extension in their computer system, and they wanted proof !   They gave me a yogurt drink and a cake for my trouble.

Children's ID?

With you saying that I am assuming you were applying for an extension based on marriage. For the years I did the marriage route I always had to provide birth certificates.

Chiang Mai always require 12 months statement ,which if you are with Bangkok Bank

can take up to 5 working days ,as it must come from head office in Bangkok.,

Interesting, I wish they would update their requirements list if that is the case. The requirements seem inconsistent depending on the officer reviewing based on comments on this thread.

With me that just required 60 days bank statement as per the instructions they gave me (plus the bank certificate). I also bank with Bangkok Bank. They did want copies of the entire savings book though. (2019 onwards).

I see at the discretion of the officer, so anything goes. Now I understand the differences people have experienced.

I bank also is Bangkok Bank but I go to my CM Bank office and ask if I can get the year's statement plus the one that it is my account only and that if I can stop in the next day at opening time and get a copy of the two documents.  Update my bankbook at that time, then to the photocopy by immigration and copy each of the pages of the bank book.   I have done this yearly for 4 straight years and always get the copies within 24 hours.  My original account was through the Bangkok office but that was a joint account and about 4/5 years ago the immigration said I needed to have an account in my name only so did that in

Chiang Mai.

I only gave them a 6 month statement.

But they want your entire bank book (mostly empty as I don't bother to update it except on VISA extension day).
