Microsoft Defender has kept me safe for years.

But things are evolving daily, in security.

Researchers on Wednesday announced a major cybersecurity find—the world’s first-known instance of real-world malware that can hijack a computer’s boot process even when Secure Boot and other advanced protections are enabled and running on fully updated versions of Windows.

Badly written article, but you'll get the point of what all is exploitable nowadays...

"Legitimate" OK, welcome on my PC, no way!

My searching indicates that 'RAV Endpoint Protection' is a product of Reason Labs which appears to be a legit company started by an ex-Microsoft chap.

However I couldn't find much in the way of reviews or actual knowledgeable folk who could say whether it is legit or not. Just "it looks like a PUP so kill it with fire", which is likely what I'd do if it sneaked onto my PC.
