yep, they are mostly too shy to touch themselves in front of a man.

 

There is a major cultural issue at play here: a Thai woman is expected to please her man, which tranlates into his finishing as soon as possible. If he doesn't finish quickly, she is doing something wrong.

 

This used to be the case in the West, but it changed when women became self sufficient. After that happened, women often looked at sex as a benefit for them, and 2 minute sessions didn't work for them. This also created the phenomenon of women finishing, and then telling their partner the show is over.
