Far right laments Tucker Carlson’s ouster and loss of its shot at the mainstream

Fox News’ dismissal of top-rated host Tucker Carlson sent shock waves through mainstream and conservative media this week. But nowhere was Carlson’s loss felt more than on the fringe and right-wing websites and forums where so many of his narratives originated.

On web shows and message boards, creators of hate and conspiracy theory content bemoaned the loss of Carlson and their path to a mainstream audience.

“He amplified [my] reporting more than anyone else,” Darren Beattie, a blogger and purveyor of conspiracy theories related to the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, said Monday on a web show hosted by Turning Point USA President Charlie Kirk.

Fox Reportedly Made ‘Startling Discovery’ About Tucker Carlson’s Private Messages Day Before Dominion Trial (msn.com)

According to a report published by the New York Times on Wednesday, private messages sent by Tucker Carlson were worse than anything that had been previously disclosed in unsealed filings by Dominion.

“Private messages sent by Mr. Carlson that had been redacted in legal filings showed him making highly offensive and crude remarks that went beyond the inflammatory, often racist comments of his prime-time show and anything disclosed in the lead-up to the trial,” the Times stated.

Tucker Carlson's Russian comrades not too pleased about this either.

Here's the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov that all time bastion of truth and honesty having his say:

While Fox's number were down...

Unsurprisingly, Fox News ratings suffered Monday night without the channel’s most watched host.

After the surprise of Fox News and Tucker Carlson “agree[ing] to part ways” on Monday, the network’s 8 p.m. hour had a significantly smaller audience Monday night. The debut of Fox News Tonight, hosted by Brian Kilmeade (the first in a series of rotating hosts), pulled in just under 2.6 million viewers — about 21 percent below the average for Tucker Carlson Tonight (3.3 million viewers) over the past eight Mondays.

Fox News Tonight also took a hit in the key news demographic of adults 25-54: Its 0.24 rating was 37 percent lower than the 0.38 Carlson averaged over the prior eight Monday shows.

...there are plenty of right-wing outlets available to spread the Gospel.

OANN and Newsmax are getting significant bumps.

Why would Lavrov complain that Carlson was fired if he isn't pro Russia? Carlson said so explicitly by the way.

he top-rated Fox host has been taking flak on social media and cable news for saying he was "rooting" for Russia in 2019 and, more recently, complaining that Ukraine is "not even a democracy" ahead of the Russian invasion. Since then, he's boosted an invasion-justifying conspiracy theory on his show suggesting that Russia's purposes in Ukraine are to dismantle secret biological research facilities.

Yawn..................not going over that again, we've already debated that along with links I provided.

However  where exactly in that post do I claim Tucker as being pro Russian? Its a statement from the Russian Foreign Minister nobody else................

Questioning the need for an undeclared war, and asking for an accounting of the billions poured into it by American taxpayers, does not a Putin apologist make.  It makes a patriot IMHO.

The whole Putin smear is just a leftover from 2016, when the left tried so desperately (and innacurately) to tie Putin and Trump together.   Somehow though, there was no invasion of Ukraine on Trump's watch, in spite of his supposed support for Russia...

Surprised that you suddenly believe what Russian state media says. I guess when it conveniently fits your preconceived narrative, it is OK to be credulous.

"Surprised that you suddenly believe what Russian state media says. I guess when it conveniently fits your preconceived narrative, it is OK to be credulous."

When a person repeatedly speaks in a way that benefits Russia it's logical to think they are truthful when they say they support said person.

I would think that was patently obvious but apparently I have to spell it out.

Can you supply some proof and links of your statements that the Russian collusion disinformation campaign was led by the left.

.state.gov/briefings-foreign-press-centers/russian-disinformation

First, these disinformation efforts are not individuals expressing free speech or personal opinion.  These actions are a concerted effort directed by the Russian Government, using Russian Government resources, to intentionally target and destabilize neighboring countries.  These are not just public statements from Russia’s MFA account, the press or cultural attachés working at embassies or through official public accounts, although they also frequently are purveyors of similar tropes.  These are broader campaigns, using shell companies, false names, and layers to conceal the real backers and their intentions.  And this is part of a larger campaign to orchestrate a scenario that offers an excuse for Russian Government behavior and to create a pretext for Russia to further invade Ukraine.

Not a question of humility , but of judgement.  And there is nothing wrong with asking questions.  Why should the President and his party fear answering very simple and valid questions about where they are spending America's treasure?  Seems the neocons have switched parties.

Tuck released a short vid on his twitter feed. Oh the irony........finishes it with this beauty:

“Where can you still find Americans saying true things?” he said. “There aren’t many places left but there are some and that’s enough. As long as you can hear the words, there is hope. See you soon.”

https://www.theguardian.com/media/2023/apr/27/tucker-carlson-breaks-silence-fox-news-firing-video-twitter

Have to say, watching the vid its sounds like he's on a mission to denounce all things US that way it is at the moment from both sides.

I feel a podcast on the way....lol

That is if he turns down the offer from RT News..........lol

Perhaps he is so thick that he cannot see the things he says are absolute nonsense/rubbish – – and it would appear that he hasn't taken note of the recent court ruling that, "no one should expect Fox News to be real news/factual, because it is merely someone's opinion". Or words to that effect.

The man is deluded, but all the time he can find some right wing dumbos to follow him, which increases his wealth, then he is happy. Another right wing nut job.

Putin saw Trump undermining NATO and America's international reputation.  He chose not to do anything to upset that happy (for him) state of affairs.

RT can't afford him.   I could see him going to Blaze TV or maybe The Daily Wire. Although being a total free agent is also a possibility. He has been working from a home studio for years now- he never had to go to the NewsCorp HQ in New York, and I can't see him giving that up.  He has a dedicated audience, attracts big name guests for interviews, and is a very skilled writer.  Perhaps a Substack on the side?

Which may well have been the case if the GOP and it's most ardent base were even vaguely consistent in that opinion. Unfortunately history destroys that idea.

Far right laments Tucker Carlson's ouster and Loss of its shot on mainstream media..................

I wonder what kind of dirt Fox has amassed on Tucker? I suspect it's juicier than just some texts mocking management.

"Eight sources."!!! Message received.

Fox Has a Secret ‘Oppo File’ to Keep Tucker Carlson in Check, Sources Say

FOX NEWS EXECUTIVES have in their possession a dossier of alleged dirt on Tucker Carlson should he attack the network in the wake of his departure, eight sources at and close to the network tell Rolling Stone.

When Fox announced Carlson’s departure on Monday, the network presented the separation as amicable. But according to one former on-air Fox personality, the anchor and some of the channel’s top executives are parting ways on “the worst” and “messiest possible terms.” Indeed, in private communications released last month as part of the Dominion-Fox lawsuit, the now-fired Fox host gossiped that one such exec “hates us,” claiming she was covertly working against him and other hosts.

But if Carlson attempts to torch the network he’s leaving, Fox is prepared, the sources say.

Dream on.

Even multi-shirt wearer Steve Bannon points out that Tucker has a non-compete clause. He can talk, but not for money. Hence, the presidential run wet dream.

I snorted tea through my nose when he bemoaned how "they" won't let anyone talk about natural resources.

I agree it's a rare tv station that brings potash storage concerns to light. And certainly least of all him. His calls to action will result the same as Trump trying to assemble a crowd outside his courtroom.

So now that he has the world's ear, what's he got to say?

New racist conspiracies? So hard to squeeze out a new angle these days.

Bring on the My Pillow Guy again? And the guy who wears the suit that looks like a wall. Thai tie in -you can get a wall suit made in Chiang Mai for yourself.

A voting fraud bombshell? That's some well trod to death-ground. Plus: Possible $784M oopsie.

More bug-eating concerns? Soooo last week.

Other than butt hurt claiming to be an oppressed victim of a very conveniently vague conspiracy of silence, where's the money shot, Carlson? No deets, no further interest.

If he's going to be a conservative iconoclast who remakes the repubs, he's going to have to eventually spit it out and actually say something, instead of just threatening to.

-Like his best friend, You-know-who.

Good article in NYMag about how Fox grooms and disposes of their talent as ruthlessly as Asian boybands.

Said Roger Ailes after assembling the original The Five, "You're not people, you're types, and there's 100 replacements behind you".

So who's the next smarmy militia-lover to fill the 8 PM slot? Jesse Waters isn't up to it. The poor dupe from their morning show got a hail of abuse.

He was in lock step with Putin and his propaganda.
