Popular Post lexilis Posted May 6, 2023 Popular Post Posted May 6, 2023 Very sad news. He helped me very much as I was trying to make sense of the Immigration/visa threads over the years. These threads would go on page after page (with most posters completely misinformed) and I finally learned to just scroll down to UJ's comments. Concise and always accurate. What a terrible loss for the extended community here. I have no idea how old he was or his personal situation but I would say that was a good life. Hundreds of people are expressing their sorrow and condolences (out of the many THOUSANDS that he no doubt helped). Not many of us will be remembered and missed in this manner. RIP UJ. 9
Popular Post Keeps Posted May 6, 2023 Popular Post Posted May 6, 2023 Such sad news. Incredibly generous with his time and knowledge and never a snipe or snide remark. A true gentleman. I hope his family and friends take some solace from the wonderful comments that have been posted. 7
Popular Post DrJack54 Posted May 6, 2023 Popular Post Posted May 6, 2023 (edited) Some lovely posts in this thread to a one of a kind. This post bit left field. So just now I wanted to make appointment at CW next week. Couldn't find the appointment link. So looked on AseanNow and this pic was first result in some random thread. How many times have we seen "THANKS JOE" Edited May 6, 2023 by DrJack54 5 1

Popular Post eisfeld Posted May 6, 2023 Popular Post Posted May 6, 2023 Oh no, this is a tragic loss. He was a shining beacon in times of trolling and bickering with all his helpful posts. He spent a lot of effort curating and sharing up2date knowledge. He never ever missed the beat when it comes to posting factual, empathetic and helpful posts. I think it's not an exageration to say that Ubon Joe was by far the most helpful poster on this forum considering its origin (ThaVisa, visa related topics). May you rest in peace Ubon Joe. And may your post history continue to serve as an example for us all beyond your passing. 13 1 1
