Live Nation Tero is thrilled to announce Britain’s foremost comedian JOHN CLEESE to Bangkok! He is set to perform in Bangkok on 7 July at KBank Siam Pic Ganesha. Cleese is kicking off his Asia tour, starting in Taipei, followed by Bangkok, Hong Kong, and Singapore.

John Cleese is both a versatile comedic actor and a leading business motivator. Through the legendary Monty Python Troupe, classic sitcom “Fawlty Towers,” and acclaimed film “A Fish Called Wanda,” Cleese created a unique comedic style that has inspired countless writers and comedians. John Cleese’s influence is also felt in the corporate world as the founder of Video Arts, the world’s largest provider of business training programs.

Established in 1972, Video Arts has gained an international reputation as the premier source of business know–how. Cleese attributes his success at making hit training programs to his fascination with psychology and his love for teaching and making people laugh. He believes that “humour in training increases retention and decreases anxiety. When the training point is surrounded by humour, it can be readily digested, remembered, and applied.

Will this be a stand up comedy show? Or a motivational business talk? Stand up would be amazing. The man is both brilliant and a legend. Thailand needs more of this kind of culture.

He is indeed a rare talent .. I just hope the audience will understand the Ebglish humour and not lose anything in Translation... unless he can speak Thai?

I'd take that with a pinch of salt, he was meant to have his own show on GBNews, never happened

The new show was scheduled to begin in 2023 , as there's six months left for it to happen, its a bit early to be stating that it never happened

It's never mentioned now which means he must have backed out for some reason. 40 year gap then wants to have a TV show, doesn't sound right

Well , the GB news show got mentioned a few months ago and is  the 40 year gap a reference to Fawlty Towers ?

The new Fawlty towers shows are a different project to his GB News shows and John has been doing various things like World tours , films and documentaries in the last 40 years

He was also a founder member of The Ministry of Silly Walks.  Could this get him into the New Thai Cabinet?

Maybe he'll be minister in the new government.

That sounds dangerous. They may have translated the "The Funniest Joke in the World" to Thai...he speaks it without knowing the meaning of the words and kills Thailand (and part of Laos)

It's a pity he never made Fawlty Towers the Movie - he had some typically Cleese humorous ideas for how it would go, but for some reason it never got made.

Think of all the sketches that he was involved in that never go to be seen. Like the one below that he recalls.

Do you blame him for turning down GammonBroadcast "News".

Just one look at the current bunch of presenters would have anyone running for the hills: Mad Nad, Smugg and Farridge are hardly the epitome of fair and balanced presentation.

Dead 20 years, or are you waiting for his return by JC's side as his wingman.

John Cleese has agreed to join G.B. News , he didn't turn them down and his programmes are due to begin later this year

You'll just have to put up with the 'Fawlty Towers' new series in the making. Be interesting to see how Basil has aged

Up until the end of Fawlty Towers (1979) he was great but what has he done since then that was any good?

He is into his 80's now and well past his, great,  then prime time!

My plea to him would be;

"Please don't spoil our great image of you by coming back in a flop of a production!"

He wrote and starred in A Fish Called Wanda, which was brilliant, a decade after that.

Long ago, he only seems to work when he needs money, such as working as Q

True FT was funny but you could anticipate a lot of the lines/situations. I guess that's true of a lot of comedy.

Too many celebrities try to make comebacks, which for me spoils memories of their former glory. That said, comedy has been completely strangled by wokism, so Cleese is one of the last funny men left, sadly.

Same with me but that meant all the time.
