Popular Post webfact Posted June 22, 2023 Popular Post Posted June 22, 2023 Chonburi — Three police officers accused in a 140-million-baht shakedown scandal filed a complaint claiming they did not receive fair treatment during the investigation process by the police. The three officers from Chonburi Police Station accompanied by their lawyer arrived at the the Office of the Attorney-General (OGA) in Bangkok today to submit a petition to the chief of OGA, Kulthanit Mongkolsawat. The three claimed that they, as the defendants in this case, did not receive fair treatment during the investigation process by the police. They said the initial stages of the investigation did not follow the procedures outlined in the Anti-torture and Enforced Disappearance Act which requires immediate notification of the incident to the prosecuting officer for supervision of the investigation. Popular Post Reigntax Posted June 22, 2023 Popular Post Posted June 22, 2023 Sounds like lack of immediate notification didn’t allow time to divvy up the proceeds so the issue, that they say didn’t occur, would go away 5 1 4

Immediate application of the Act was confirmed by the Constitutional Court in May 2023 retroactive to February 22, 2023 after PM Prayut attempted by executive decree to postpone enforcement of the Act. So not surprising if RTP was ignoring the law still. 6 1

Popular Post soalbundy Posted June 22, 2023 Popular Post Posted June 22, 2023 I see they aren't protesting their innocence, are they hoping to get off on a technicality? Why are they still in uniform, shouldn't they be suspended pending investigation? 3 2 1
ezzra Posted June 22, 2023 Posted June 22, 2023 Now that the shoe on the other foot, it will pays to make a note of this case and perhaps bring it as example in future cases where the police didn't do their job right. 1
Popular Post kcpattaya Posted June 22, 2023 Popular Post Posted June 22, 2023 They're obviously looking for suitable compensation... $$$ 3

Popular Post spidermike007 Posted June 23, 2023 Popular Post Posted June 23, 2023 We don't understand what happened. We were doing as we were instructed and taught to do. We passed money up the chain of command. We were told we would always be protected. Now, they are asking us to fall on our swords. Guess we pissed off someone. We are not extortionists. We are not corrupt. We do actually practice law enforcement, once in a while. We are really decent guys. So, why the ruckus? And why now? Does this have anything to do with the timing of the election? 8 1 3
Popular Post Scouse123 Posted June 23, 2023 Popular Post Posted June 23, 2023 What no fingers pointing or giant whiteboard to outline the facts of the case? Just masks to cover their ugly corrupt faces! They mete out corruption and cheat on a daily basis then cry foul when the same treatment is handed out to them! 3

Now if it ever gets to court they can potentially get the charges dismissed as they were "denied their rights", bonus not having to name any higher up names (like the oversight inspector that didn't come) that were involved. And where did the money go, into the wind I suppose.
Cake Monster Posted June 23, 2023 Posted June 23, 2023 Such is the squeaky clean image that the RTP have, there will be very little sympathy shown toward them
sammieuk1 Posted June 23, 2023 Posted June 23, 2023 If they are crying foul give them a laughing chicken to balance things up ????
Popular Post smedly Posted June 23, 2023 Popular Post Posted June 23, 2023 you took money, get over it, you are supposed to enforce the law not break it, you are worse than the criminals you arrested, although I don't think you will face justice, if it was me you would go to jail for a very long time 1 1 1
rudi49jr Posted June 23, 2023 Posted June 23, 2023 Weh, we stole 140 million baht and they treated us like criminals, weh! (weh being the sound that a crying baby makes, in case that was not clear).
