Thanks for the warning. Best to steer clear for a while then!

What happens when it goes cashless , which they want to do ,the app.s

go down and you cannot pay or buy anything......

Was in NZ beginning of the year. They are definitely mostly cashless (hardly anyone carries cash) and the system went down one day at noon, and lasted 6-7 hours. Shops closed, gas stations shut, supermarkets closed...a real mess.

So yes it will happen sometimes, and yes it can cause big problems.

Hard to believe 7 banking apps have issues at the same time, as they all run independent

Maybe better check your phone or network.

Confirming 7 Thai banks having issues

Payday and new face scan technology introduced today

My bkk bank account still hasn’t recovered, yes can confirm most other banks having issues. If your account is working consider yourself lucky I just checked with 4 individuals one of which in Bangkok and they are confirming issues

So NOT 7 banking app issue.

Thanks for confirming

Depends on how you look at it. The result of that Promtpay was/is down, made it impossible to use 7 banking apps. Some people would say that´s a big issue.

Krungsri online works fine on my laptop.

Phone apps are often not tested properly. That is why I will not use them. Yes, I am old school - software developer of 30 years.

Just transferred 200k by Kbank app. No issues and still says facial verification with bank is only for Thai customers.

Used prompt pay 1 hour ago to pay for our morning coffee

As the thread is in Pattaya local forum for no reason I overlooked it

Yes Bangkok Bank app gave overload warning and simply ignored/timed out when trying to do a transfer.

BUT: I opened the website and did some stuff without a problem.

Possible explanation is PromptPay being the culprit which is irrelevant for the website.

Yes unrelated and unchanged. KBank still not prepared for foreigner facial scan. Same as SCB.

Same experience with Bangkok Bank website working.

But to be fair: nothing to do with bad app software but much worse with the PromptPay backend. And that is alarming.

Just a little taste of what would happen in an "IT world war".

Some military subs have cutting devices and not for fishing nets.

Some say: three days without internet and the world comes to an end

Preppers to the front.
