I miss 'Three Musketeers' bars. Do you remember them? It was a large bar segmented so that it could be broken into three large pieces 'to share with two friends.'  Cost just a nickel back then. Now it's a tiny bar that costs as much as a small condo...

Yes indeed - also one of my favorite's back in the mid 50's when all the normal candy was 5 cents - it was bigger than most as a lot of air in it - but tasted great.  Did not do that much sharing however.

Not much of a chocolate boy myself. A piece here and there is nice. Always a few from the amazing chocolatiers in Europe on holidays is yummo ☺️

Delicious coconut choc coated bar called 'Bounty' (maybe halfa' one for me), and occasionally halfa'  'Cherry Ripe' shared with my darling.

Another favourite of mine was Old Jamaica Rum 'n' Raisin. Can't get it any more although Morrisons in the UK do a passable copy. Shows how old the picture is - only cost 9 pence a bar!

About 50% of 7/11 shops sell them, but the stocking is hit and miss, and they go quickly. I get a couple a few times a week. If my regular 7/11 has run out, I go to the next 7/11.

Yes years ago back in Scotland I loved mars bars until they had this policy of making them bigger as an excuse to raise the price, then a few weeks later they would reduce in size but the price would stay the same.

It's a practice known as "shrinkflation" - instead of raising the price, they reduce the size of the product. I've noticed a lot of local restaurants, street food stalls etc, doing the same thing.

Mars bars have been getting smaller all around the world, but they have always been significantly smaller in Thailand than I've seen anywhere else.

 

As for why they're hard to find... I guess it's because they're popular and sell out quickly. Retail shops here don't appear to have cottoned on to the concept of doubling up orders for their bigger sellers.... they just seem to order the same amount of everything and wait for all the products in a range to get low on stock before reordering.

Same with most things that one can buy.Prices gone Up seizes are Down/Smaller .

Many products were shrunk in size, rather than increase the price. That was then. Now they do both.
