Escalating noise levels and litter are being reported on the popular beaches of Pattaya City. As a result, the city council is contemplating the introduction of strict timings for public access to these beaches, in line with the proposed beach regulations.

 

Reports include disturbances from visitors who choose to extend their beach parties into the early hours of the morning. After investigating, it has been discovered that revelling beachgoers indulge in high-volume music and alcoholic festivities, Deputy Mayor of Pattaya City, Wutthisak Roemkitchakan revealed yesterday.

 

Even as sanitation workers arrive for their routine morning clean-up, some party-goers remain impervious, littering the beauty of these beaches with their leftovers. According to Wutthisak, the introduction of beach timings is a potential solution aimed at mitigating these current issues.

As of now, there exist no strict beach regulations dictating the operational hours of these beaches, leaving them open for public usage throughout the day. Despite attempts to increase beach patrolling, the dearth of security personnel made it an impossible task to monitor the beaches every night.

I often walk it at 6am.  My observations is that it is 100% young Thais drinking, yelling and blasting music.  Never see a cop around must be shift change.   Folks staying at the Hilton must hate it.

AKA police who dislike working at night in case they meet any bad people; (they also dislike working during the day because it's hot.)

Thais got a taste for Pattaya during Covid and soon after.....can't get rid of them now....whatever happened to Baeng Saen?

Enough of your common sense remarks. 
Give them enough time and they’ll think of it all by themselves. If it wasn’t for 7/11 there’d be next to no rubbish bins in Thailand.

I walk along the beach in the early mornings and these drunk and drugged up kids are partying it up all night.

 

Kick em to the curb!

 

It's dangerous since they block the sidewalks and the streets with their cars double parked, and the food vendors are blocking lanes of traffic.

 

Let's be rid of them!!!

Oh, how I miss the old Pattaya, no riff raff, no problems, everybody happy, beautiful women chasing you, lots of small open air bars, the list goes on.

Agreed....but....

That would mean having bins:

Bins need to be emptied (problem.)

Perhaps bins emptied into a truck? (expensive)

Truck needs to dump rubbish (small soi should do.)

Drains are the answer.

Put all rubbish into the nearest drain. Out of sight = out of mind.????????

Limiting noise-generating activities and those that unsettle peace and tranquillity would be enough. The rest of the public should be allowed to stroll, sit and enjoy the breeze anytime they want. But, as usual, there is lack of enforcement, or the will to do so.

How about a city wide curfew .....7PM everyone needs to be home and in bed..

With the beaches closed at 6PM..

If a few people are making a problem, everybody needs to pay...

So it seems that they can't control the situation with the police now, so they are thinking about introducing regulations to control access.

 

So just who is going to enforce the proposed regulations?

Like they tried with bars closing?

Shops and vendors will still sell alcohol after hours, close the beach they will find another location.

Better to let them have use of the beach with a regular police attendance to curb those who get out of control.

there are no solutions, only problems..............Problem : years back there were rubbish bins along at least the canal in Chiang Mai. Solution : as long as new they were stolen, later nobody emptied them, even later they were found filthy and stinking in the corners, concrete rubbish bin boxes filled up with stinking food waste. Solution: big signs : no pets allowed anywhere and plastic bags, 1way bubbletea cups, caps and straws and styrofoam boxes with nice smelly food waste in every nook and cranny where motorbikes can drive along, around any type of footsall and karaoke , also right next to hotel and restaurant entries. Solution : no pet in restaurants or hotels, definately not beaches, they might let out a bark, they must be to blame. Especially the well taken care of ones on a leash. EXTERMINATE PEOPLE, LEAVE THE PLANET TO THE ANIMALS . Ever seen a dog who throws away a plastic bag with foul food in?

I think 7/11 have taken out their rubbish bins on Pattaya beach. If it rains it will all wash out to sea so n need

Yet Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai were spotless when I was there last month. Whatever is being done there to keep those cities clean needs to be applied elsewhere in Thailand.

Perhaps they shouldnt have opened the dongtan seaside road for 24 hours ,most drinkers too lazy to walk.

Better still close it to all motor traffic

and return it to the walkers,dogwalkers,children,runners,

elderly who just crave a little fresh air and a traffic day out.

No No.....That is the last remaning nice beach in this area....It needs to be trashed as soon as possible...And all those beautiful trees, well they remind everyone how beautiful beach road use to be....And we cant have that...So they need to go..
