I too be sick if i all of the sudden i'll find myself locked in a cell being used to affluent life style, but not far is the day where the new PM of the same party of Thaksin will ask the king for a pardon, my guess is that this is already in the works and it's only a matter of time.

The man chose to come back to this.... I doubt that was without any previous promises.

Your choice.  Besides, I am talking about individuals who are ill or not feeling well and would be better off by conserving their energy.

Should have stayed in Dubai, he seemed okay there for 17 years

Liars, cheaters and scammers just keep on doing what they do best. This one's a doozy tho. Like a little brat whining about a tummy ache to avoid school and mom sends him to Disney Land. ????

Don't know why you'd equate anti-Toxin people to such a thing...? How about being anti-corruption. Does it matter if it's this habitual liar or Prayut? And with both of them, a lot can be added on top of simple corruption. Mass murder sure is taken lightly around here....

The military influenced kangaroo court made some cases on him ...... but i did not see any about a mass murder .....

Maybe Premchai is already occupying it!

the excitement of returning was all a bit too much..a by-pass should fix things..an ankle monitor, followed by a pardon should see a good prognosis.

So what sentence do you get if you kill 2000 people plus if you are not a billionaire?

To be fair he didn't kill them. Maybe he ordered the police to do that or to look the other way. But that should be proved in a court of law.

He is not convicted to 8 years in jail. I think that is a good start.

Before sentencing you need to be charged, tried and convicted.

Thaksin has been neither charged, tried nor convicted.

Cynical as I am as towards the actual "crimes" of which he was convicted, of the veracity of the evidence presented and the independence of the courts which convicted him of his other "crimes", this "crime" exists only in the more fevered imaginations of his detractors on these forums.

To be fair after the public/family outcry that innocent folk were killed in the X-fire; the Government did invite all aggrieved parties to lodge their claim for compensation.

PS. (I have no idea where that went).

I doubt you would see a tree in a forest.

Same air breathing now like his sisters and brothers in Thailand. But without an airpurifier in his present room? I mean PM season starts in November…

So time to fix this.

His corrupt dealings that led to unusual wealth were well documented at the time. My favorite was the soft loan to Myanmar so they could buy his products. How about changing the Foreign Ownership laws to sell his telecom assets?  His wife's crooked land deals? Just to name some of his shenanigans.

'He will need to complete the remainder of his sentence at home...'

Oh come on Red, the man is full of manure.

From the time when he brazenly told a court in 2001 that the millions of baht hidden in his servants' names was 'an honest mistake', to this urgent need to get out of jail and direct the new government's cabinet, he has told porkies.

General Prayut made a coup ousting an elected PM.... Thaksin ,

a coup  is punishable by dead sentence ...... he went straight to the Palace asking for Amnesty ...... did not have to waited for 2 years

Just to compare ...... and yes i know many anti -Thaksin don't like to hear that ....????

Reason,  the idea carry out selection of Prayut came from the big house why would he have to wait.

Just like his return it was pre-planned, the delayed was due to plans not being finalized.

Leaders here know majority of Thais have no critical thinking. Break it down in his years in exiled have anyone heard of all these health issue?   The give away " posture "  the constant reminder he will be treated like everyone without me listing anyone know of any inmate at any prison in the world get a physical that he gotten,  a helicopter ride and resides with a team of specialise at the royal hospital and suite.

Personally I got nothing against the man he hasn't done anything to the Thai people that any other leader in the past or present won't be doing in some manner or form.

This soap opera is Thailand politics 101. Deception.
