Starlink Roam: Are you using it effectively in Thailand now?
Thank you. Very interesting, and I had not heard of this brand. However, I have heard of people using something from Bluetti. Are you familiar with their products? So, the question is, at least for me, which is better...for my purposes. https://www.bluettipower.com/products/solar-generator-elite-200-v2?id=67c197013fc3f304dcea274c The link is just to one of their products, I picked at random. However the Bluetti site has a wide range to choose from. a. Which brand is more reliable. b. Which products are more expandable, versatile. And, my minimum need is to have two desktop computers running simultaneously: Approx 800 watts, max. Four monitors, minimum: probably less than 400 watts. And that would do it for a minimum power demand. Must be able operate for one hour minimum. However, I would then add on to boost to...up to 3 hours. However, the need for 3 hours of backup is not frequent. ============ Then, I am wondering if the internet router JUNCTION BOX outside, SOMEWHERE, has backup power, and how much. If I cannot use internet, just having computers running is pointless. ================= So, part of the minimum requirement is to be able to use the internet for video conferencing, or high speed upload download, with low latency, during a power outage of one hour, minimum, and up to three hours, during a longer outage. (The crazy power here usually comes back online before we reach the three hour mark. But, the power in this are is garbage, for sure.) -

Questioned about my underwear at a Police checkpoint.
No such law exists or has ever existed in Thailand. That's an urban myth which pre-dates the Internet. The Thai Criminal Code, under Petty Offenses, states in Section 388: Whoever, doing any shameful act in public by indecently exposing oneself’s person, or by committing any other act of obscenity shall be liable to a fine not exceeding five hundred Baht. https://www.legal.co.th/resources/thailand-criminal-code/book3/thailand-criminal-code-page-70-book-iii-petty-offences-section-376-385/ It's a real stretch to think that makes illegal the failure to wear underclothing beneath outer clothing. The "commando connection" supposedly came when a female farang tourist wasn't wearing a bra beneath a sheer blouse in public. An unconfirmed story I heard back in the 1980s said she was arrested for indecent exposure, hence the notion it's illegal not to wear underwear. That story has been repeatedly numerous times on the Internet, sometimes sarcastically, sometimes as fact. But it has never been true. -

American Man Arrested for Robbing Donation Box Outside Pattaya Police Station
The guy does not look hungry. He could live off that fat for a month without eating. Hehe.. the box was just outside their building. This story really goes all out with sensationalism. So what does this mean? They will make him pay a fine and deport him? As if he can pay the BIB or buy an airline ticket if he is so broke to do that. So i guess, it is off to the slammer for him. -
