Transsexual Suspected in Robbery of Bahraini Tourist

On September 28, 2023, at 01:00 AM, Mr. Hasan (last name withheld), a 55-year-old Bahraini national, reported a theft to Lt. Col. Akkarapong Saenputawong, the Deputy Chief of Investigation at Pattaya City Police Station.

 

Mr. Hasan claimed that he had been the victim of a robbery where he lost over 7,000 Thai Baht and approximately 5,000 Thai Baht worth of foreign currency, including 60 Danish Krone, along with several important documents, reported Siam Rath.

 

The incident occurred while he was traveling on a double-decker cooperative minibus.

 

According to Mr. Hasan, he boarded the minibus on Bua Khao Soi, and during the journey, two women, one of whom was a transsexual, boarded as well, sitting on both sides of him. One of the women struck up a conversation and became friendly.

When they reached his hotel and he was about to exit the vehicle, the transsexual woman seized the opportunity to steal his bag. 

 

Realizing his bag had been stolen, Mr. Hasan suspected the transsexual woman of being the perpetrator and attempted to detain her. Unfortunately, both women quickly fled the scene, eluding his pursuit. This prompted him to promptly report the incident to the police.

 

Lt. Col. Akkarapong Saenputawong recorded the complaint and initiated an investigation, including reviewing surveillance footage to identify and apprehend the suspects for legal proceedings.

Ladyboys in my experience, apart from being very confused about their gender, also tend to be criminals here, especially if not attractive. I did not know they were also very stupid. Who does crimes in an area where you should know if there are cameras etc? There are cameras "everywhere" in Patong, Pattaya etc and they know that but........they just confused stupid, criminals IMHO.

Many people still don't think of CCTV. My favourite tale, reported on this site some time ago, was of a woman who owned a women's clothing store and who installed CCTV to catch shoplifters, but instead it caught her stealing from a customer's bag while she was trying on a dress in a cubicle.

Pretty stupid and irrelevant comment to make, when he was on a bus and the crooks made all the advances. He was targeted. And what led you to think he was rich. Rich Arabs don't go to Pattaya. They go to places where they can enjoy opulence and luxury, which are rare - read non-existent - commodities in Pattaya.

Homosexuality is illegal in the UAE, yet it's a very popular destination Thai ladyboys go to ply their trade. You don't have to look very far to find ladyboys in UAE. 

 

And the ladyboys have to travel as men to get through immigration, they'll be turned away if they try to enter in their normal female clobber. But it seems that once they're there, it's all good. Everyone just pretends it's not gay, and that it was just a massage.

It's one of the most erroneous translations for what is colloquially known as a "Baht bus".

Technically in Thai it's a "song taeo", a two row/
bench minibus aka rebuild pickup.

How the hell can such misleading translations make it to the news??

When I travel I have various different currencies in my Passport Wallet (along with SIM Cards / Credit and Bank Cards / Different ID's etc from various countries)....

 

I'm overseas now and of the top of my head can guess that I have 9 different currencies in my Passport Wallet.

 

It's not odd at all that this guy had currency from a country other than the one he was visiting.

Of course it’s your experience if you’re dealing with ladyboys doing the streets in red light districts. It’s not confusing to ladyboys and to the contrary very clear to them that this is who they are and we should respect them for that. I’ll stop there and won’t get into the criminal accusations.  This is not too dissimilar to a saying that all Thai women are prostitutes because you’ve been hanging around bars in pattaya.
