Pattaya — One Kuwaiti tourist was moderately injured in a hotel fire that occurred early on Monday morning in Pattaya, on October 2nd.

The incident took place at 3 AM at a popular hotel , located on Third Road in the Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province. The hotel’s full name was withheld due to an ongoing fire investigation. Upon receiving the report, firefighting personnel from Pattaya City were dispatched to the scene to quell the frames.

Upon arrival, authorities observed a large fire emerging from the balcony of a room on the second floor of the seven-story hotel. Thick smoke was billowing out as the rescuers evacuated an unclear number of guests from the premises.

Firemen took about 30 minutes to bring the fire under control. Upon inspection, they found one injured person named Mr. Jaber M. H. S. Alotaibi, a 31-year-old tourist from Kuwait who occupied the room where the fire first erupted.

Even in defamation crazy Thailand, I can’t see any reason for withholding the name of the hotel, active fire investigation is no reason.

The investigation could be aided by publicity if previous guests or staff could shed light on good or bad practices of fire prevention in the hotel.

No Fire Chiefs giving probable cause of fire yet then.

So are the foreigners called foreigners or are they called tourist or they called expats what the hell are they called cuz I lived in London for 25 years and I've never saw every news detailed about foreigners and expats like for God's sake if you managed and called every Foreigner that was in a crime that's all this country does is name and shame

Exactly no fire chief because all the generals are too busy to file the paperwork for the other generals that have caused damage in the last year so people are filing paperwork to put away big joke big jokes in trouble for filing paperwork and oh God it just keeps going on and on and on and on

It's to protect the hotel in case their fire alarms, sprinklers etc were not up to snuff. They can hide behind a wall of defamation even if allegations of criminal behaviour or neglect are true.

The fire looks pretty intense in the Photo,  it's lucky it was brought under control in just 30 minutes,  the whole building could have gone up as it was on the 2nd floor.

kudos to the PFB

"hotel’s full name was withheld due to an ongoing fire investigation"

Excellent news for a tourist-dependent place. Will most likely jack up visitor numbers by triple digit percentage now ????

Some years ago there was a fire in a guest's room while he was out.

He claimed he'd left his pants - with his wallet and all his money - on a hotplate in the room that "must have short-circuited" or something.

Poor guy, no pants, no wallet, no money to pay the bill he owed the hotel for the time he'd stayed there, what could he do ?
(He apparently hopped in a taxi and went to the airport. Seems he "forgot" his wallet but remembered his plane ticket and passport.)

No Candles, or smoking even on balconies.

The fire crew were told to look for flames coming out of a building - often a give away

Six; all guilty of riding their motor bikes in bed.
