Chonburi — Chonburi law enforcement and administrative authorities on Wednesday launched a collaborative operation to combat pressing social issues in the province.

On November 1st, at 9:30 PM, Chonburi governor Thawatchai Sritong, alongside Deputy Commander of Region 2 Police Pol. Maj. Gen. Nanthawut Suwanna-la-ong, presided over a kick-off ceremony to initiate a joint operation to address various social issues in Chonburi, including drug abuse, human trafficking, possession and carrying of firearms, gambling, and influential figures causing problems and breaking the law.

The operation was launched in line with the government’s policy to maintain social order and suppress influential figures nationwide.

Over 200 personnel from various agencies related to security in the area, including local administrative officials, police officers, representatives from the Ministry of the Interior, sub-district chiefs, assistant sub-district chiefs, village heads, village head assistants, and community protection volunteers participated in this operation.

Yes they do it every year, don't believe it makes much difference. The main operation is just ahead of the New Year celebrations, as they all want to get some spending money.

Bridge playing pensioners take cover

They need a crackdown on the printing of pointless banners! I always wonder what happens to all the banners the police and government have printed over the years. Someone show them how a projector works please!

The freebie lunch was good...

I stayed in Pattaya and Phuket last year. What a mess.

Not enough, more to come with Christmas and New Year looming.

This is so funny. First, I didn't know crime had a high season, lol

Second, ISN'T THAT YOUR JOB???

Based on what I can see (or don't see) the Pattaya Police do nothing except write an occasional ticket.

There is a morning party on Jomtien Beach where every law in the book is broken: smoking, drinking, drugs, you name it. All in the open. Food vendors block the street, causing a safety hazard, as do cars that are double parked. And one cop car runs slowly up and down the beach with its lights flashing, doing nothing.

So if you're going to "crack down," make Jomtien Beach safe.

Of course, "crack down" on criminals and criminal gangs. I thought that was in your job description.

Crackdown.
Isn't that when bar girls take strike action?

GREAT IDEA! Let's start with the local administrative officials, police officers, representatives from the Ministry of the Interior, sub-district chiefs, assistant sub-district chiefs, village heads, village head assistants, and community protection volunteers...

That's the way to go ... a kick off ceremony .

Pmsl...I will leave that one alone.

Good excuse for a massive booze-up & then drive home.

I wanna be on the sub-committee that will no doubt be formed.🙃🙃

Wouldn't have it any other way with parties and people enjoying what little they have in life on Jomtien beach etc. I would have thought Jomtien safe unless you are not aware of your surroundings, same as anywhere.

Recently spent some time back in Oz - Oh my Buddha - how sterile.🙃🙃

Why do you think so many participated. Now they all know when and where to be careful in their subversive activities. Only those that failed to attend will have a chance of being caught now. Slim chance be as it may.

from the article:

Quote

The operation showcased the successful efforts of Chonburi authorities in deterring illicit activities. This followed a previous raid at a male host bar where several suspected gamblers and alleged illegal migrant workers were apprehended just a day earlier.

Gambling suspects and illegal migrants..., boy you really showed those Nifs (nationwide influential figures), they are quaking in their flip-flops as they peruse this article.

Heard it all before: large crack down on: Soi dogs, beach jet ski scams, noisy motorcycles, trucks without mufflers …..just another info scam

True enough, all talk, no action.

It should not be too difficult to find the perpetrators of Extorsion, Illegal Fire Arms, Loan Sharking amongst committed in the City

Problem isn't Influential Figures, it's corrupt officials and cops taking their money to look the other way.... don't see that on the agenda?

That should cover it.  How many of these sins are committed by Plod on a daily basis?
