The tranquil resort town of Patong was startled in the early hours yesterday morning, as police swooped on a local shop, apprehending one individual for the illegal sale of mushrooms. The Patong Police confirmed the raid, which took place around 12.10am yesterday.

The illicit merchandise seized by the police was an assortment of mushrooms, each variety carefully stored in separate jars. The report stated that a brochure, advertising the mushrooms for sale, was also recovered from the scene. However, the report refrained from revealing the identity of the arrestee or the precise location of the shop.

The individual apprehended now faces charges of possession of a Category 5 narcotic, specifically buffalo dung mushrooms, without the necessary permissions. This piece of information was also revealed in the report, which, despite its brevity, provided a clear picture of the events that transpired, reported Phuket News.

The accused party has been transferred to Patong Police Station, where legal proceedings would be initiated and carried out in accordance with the law, the report noted, bringing the brief account to a close.
