Pattaya — Pattaya Police on Sunday organized a special thank-you event dedicated to tourists. This initiative sought to strengthen the bond between law enforcement and the visitors, both domestic and international, who contribute significantly to Pattaya’s tourism industry.

Held at Pattaya Beach, the November 26th event featured various fun activities such as live concerts, marching bands, and dances to make tourists feel valued and embraced.

Over 250 police officers participated in this event with Chonburi Governor Mr. Thawatchai Srithong and Pattaya Mayor Mr. Poramase Ngampiches jointly chairing the opening ceremony in the evening.

The event, held under the theme “Safe Pattaya, Comfortable Tourists,” aims to express Pattaya police’s gratitude to visitors who had flocked to the city over the last weekend to attend the successful Pattaya International Fireworks Festival and also to welcome those who visit today to attend the Loy Krathong Festival.

They get that from having their pockets picked, being scammed and the occasional gold snatch!

Meanwhile on the roads ... NONE were spotted saving lives or alleviating traffic congestion.

Need an easy to access eyeroll response emoji.... how about a job well done (aka "law enforcement") would be thanks enough for coming to visit for most tourists I would imagine. These stunts (like that mass of cops the other day) seem to underscore how woefully clueless and inept the BIB here in sin city truly are

I must admit that, in 20 years of living here, I've never had a positive experience with the RTP. One of the GF's friends was a cop and I quite liked the guy, but even he once told me over a few beers never to trust a cop in Thailand. After he managed to kill himself in a car accident, the GF joined the local police volunteers. She also started a small business, renting premises. About 6 months later she was in a dreadful state and had done a runner from her business, the owner had seen that she was doing well and demanded a doubling of her rent. She'd told him to go and spoon a goose, or whatever the Thai equivalent is, and he'd pulled a gun on her and threatened to kill her. Sensibly, she'd fled the scene and was never going back. So I asked her why she didn't just go to her friends in the local police station where she was a volunteer, report the matter and let them deal with this gun-toting miscreant? After a lot of gobbledygook, she finally admitted that the owner of the place she had rented, and the guy who'd threatened to kill her, was one of the senior officers in the local cop shop. That's what you call a lose-lose situation, but it just shows why you should never trust any of these goons, or believe a word they say.

Just to make you feel safe.....

A big Thank You for all the "fines" extracted from tourists at traffic checkpoints?

for the camera and what happens behind the the cameras

When will they realize that "invisible" is the best quality for a police officer.

Are they taking a stroll along walking street there? Must be checking that there's no prostitution going on 😉

So, after 20+ years they are finally going to enforce no smoking laws in bars and restaurants? Or will the carcinogenic stink of tobacco and cannabis continue?

Nope

Stop visa as well as "mandatory" health insurance .........All of these means the same thing and constitute the subject of closed study by Ministry of Tourism. The trip to Thailand become more and more expensive for average visitor ....except from Russians as well Arabians "bussinessmen"......I book my trip in a multinational tourism company online so my money to close my trip remain outside of Thailand including air companies. In other hand tourist operator book Hotels room at €10 and resell them to tourists online at €50 and more....more ....more .....again the customers money is outside of Thailand.....What is the profit of toursim in Thailand if 90% of customers money is outside of Kingdom? Οn the other hand, as a tourist I am forbidden to open a bank account. What's the problem if Thai banks have the IBAN number which is unique number for every depositor in every continent? If I wanted to launder black money as a tourist, I wouldn't give my IBAN number in the country of deposit because I will be under arrest by Law Enforcement Agencies.

A well fed bunch of fellows in brown. Of course the women are doing the work of carrying the

goodies that are being handed out. Typical.

Now drop 'em and piss in the cup. Also...show us your papers
