A drunk police colonel from Maha Sarakham Provincial Police Station abused a foreign man at a restaurant in the Isaan province of Maha Sarakham last night.

Videos of a Thai man in a red T-shirt causing chaos in a restaurant were shared on social media platforms, yesterday, November 27.

In the video, the Thai man was angry after the waiters asked him to stop smoking in the restaurant. He then randomly started a row with a foreign customer blaming the foreigner for having more privilege.

In the video, the Thai man accused the foreigner of being an illegal alien.

“He is an illegal alien and I am a Thai citizen. You are an alien! Not fair at all. Why do police officers not check his document? Check his document!”

A drunk police colonel

What a disgrace.

Obviously also police officers are allowed to get drunk in public. But do you have to behave like a small-town thug?

Their hatred for foreigners is profound.

It seeps through every pour in their skin, and comes out of their mouths when they've had too much to drink..

Thais are racist to the core!

I'm sure there are many such cases like this.

I personally know of a few Thai women that ran away with foreigners, leaving their helpless Thai husbands alone at home.

We can't help it if we have bigger willy's, can we? :giggle:

Thais are racist to the core!

Perhaps to you they do. Is it possible  that it might have something to do with you rather than them?

20 years in Thailand and I never , not one, nada problem.

Why is that?

Thai people are no more racist than most people in the world.

That's not to say that some of them are not, just no more than some other nationalities.

A drunk person, doing drunk things. What a surprises.

No drunk person does anything like that in the West??

Google it,.You would be reading about incidence like that all day.

......if privilege means paying more for certain goods than locals, proving that you have hundreds of thousands of baht in your bank account and having to fill out several administrative forms in order to stay in thailand, i don't agree with the use of the word privilege.

A policeman abusing and insulting someone because he isn't Thai. Makes you feel safe and welcome, doesn't it. There is so much nastiness and violence just below the surface in the Land of Smiles.

And that is just for the members of the constabulary!

I expect the drunken police chief climbed into his car and drove home afterwards!

are you for real?

perhaps to me?

Newsflash for you buddy, the guy being racially abused/profiled in the video IS NOT ME!

This kind of thing happens all the time in Thailand. I have witnessed systematic racism here on numerous occasions, and not just projected at me.

Maybe clean your rose tinted glasses once in a while and you may see the wood for the trees!

I guess denial is just easier for some people?

Personally, I prefer truth.

Buddy.

I assume you don't get that impression from this one incident. Because if you did it would be simply sad.

It happens everywhere in the world. I can produce for you hundreds , of articles of such incidents happening in the US. This is not a Thai problem, it is a human problem, and I got news for you,

buddy, Thais are human.
