What do you think of Australian people?

I can't remember the name of the bar in the dead end street up in Soi Bukhao but it was a " Aussie bar " it seemed.

I think it was called the "Bogan Bar"

I walked in there typical bogan types , tattooed watching AFL or Rugby league

Swearing etc , giving you dirty looks

I quickly got out of there ,I don't like to associate with low class  riff Raff

I don't like going into Australian type bars I find them not as friendly as British people who will talk to you and make a conversation which usually they have a sense of humour

If you start a conversation with a Aussie they seems it's immediately suspicious of you and no sense of humour

I later asked a few guys up in Canterbury tales cafe about Australian expats they meet .

"They seem to be aggressive type " one said

"Not much sense of humour " said another

I remember a few months ago someone a Aussie guy getting angry he thought the pommys guy in the bar was having a go at him calling him dogs balls ,when in fact the dogs Bxllocks means something else !!!

I remember hearing their conversation

"Oh your the dogs Bxllocks mate"

Said the chubby tattooed baldy British guy

"What the F did you call me C>>t?

Said the tattooed unshaven Aussie guy

They can't dance... Oh wait, that's white people, white people can't dance (especially that Phil Collins guy).

Met several Aussies here, some clients of my company, others not.

All of the Aussies I have met have been really cool people.

But I met none of them in a bar.

As an Australian, I think I am polite to most, except those who commence stupid threads on ASEAN.

If I were to post my opinion on Australians, I would be breaking community guidelines.

I wonder..  Is that their nature, or is it nurture that makes them this way....     :whistling:

Same as with all nationalities. There are good ones and there are bad ones. In my opinion, it seems like you are trying to find all the wrong with people, so everything seems normal.

I find your question rather hypocritical in many ways because you say you don't like Australian type bars but yet you specifically went there and went inside knowing full well it was an Aussie bar.

As for your Topic question .....     I find Australian people the same as anyone else,   like most nationalities ... at times you meet some really good guys and other times you can meet some not so likeable folks.

It can also be the way you come across to other people .....    not everyone's perfect.

I recommend Mayfair, London or the Thai Cultural Centre, rather than Soi Bukhao if you're trying to avoid low class, riff raff.

Personally, from my experience, when I was working in New York, the Ozzies saved me.

The arrival of a few employees from our Australian office rescued me from the humourless, worker drone Americans. The first thing they suggested on walking into the office was to pop out for a quick beer.

Big fan of Aussies myself, find me another nationality that can misgender me as a kunt with impunity :cheesy:

It's a real shame bigots don't get a fair go.

Having spent 41 of my adult years living and working in Oz, I must confess I've never been inside a low class riff-raff pub.

But I imagine that if you enter such a place in any country in the world you're likely to meet low class riff-raff types there. Perhaps it's the mirrors.

I like them and am one. Your small sample size is problematic. You saw a rude young lady at the checkout while 50 others nearby didn't cross your path likely because they are nice and unassuming.

Not that many bogans these days and those that are are often cheerful. You seem to be looking for reasons to not like your country - maybe so you can talk yourself into finally biting the bullet and living in Thailand.

I've met folks from many nationalities and generally we're all in pretty much just decent folk living life, and curiously all look similar in our lifestyles.

The stereotypes however tend to derive from meeting folks in dive bars or equally seedy locations whose clients don't tend to reflect the population of an entire country!

Back in the late 60's there was a fine Sydney pub called The Pyrmont.

It catered for wharf workers and ships crews.

Also some ladies of not the best morals.

I remember one night going in to get a beer, only being greeted by a couple of drunks having a pxssing contest next to the bar.

A real class establishment that had far more Riff than Raff.

Its sad how the place has gone downhill  full of trendy yuppies

Great last line. It is so true.

So if we're to believe this bs OP, he went to Soi Buakhaobin the Pattaya sleaze pit and didn't encounter the classy elite people he'd hoped for.

I'm shocked.

OMG, you were lucky to get out of there alive. 😂

Based on my travels around Australia i concluded they are a bit caveman like, basic, with some exceptions, Aussie girls are worse, ladets. Being in Thailand hasn't changed that view except  Aussie girls have got fatter

I have never heard of them.  Where do they come from?

We come from a land down under,

Where women glow, and men thunder.

Can't you hear, can't you hear, the thunder?

You'd better run, you'd better take cover.

The UK does not have football hooligans and Hooray Henrys?

Nationalistic bashing always ends the same way.

After this will be "what ya think of....(next nationality)

Which will also end up the same way.
