Sometimes I drink wine or beer with lunch or dinner.

And when I go out in bars then I have a few whiskeys.

I almost never drink at home or alone.

Interesting

I used to always drink a few beers at home alone, but I was the only farang in the village.

Now, I seldom drink at home, but I often drink alone in a pub.

I eat pizza maybe 3 times a year and then have one beer with it.

I feel sorry for people who can not live without a lot of alcohol.

It is boring, dangerous and it kills a lot of people.

I have no problem with people who drink,we all live our own lives.

Yes, but very rare.

Bought a 4 pack of Full Moon Dark over a month ago, and I've drank 1 since.  No other alcohol in the house.

Complete contrary to days past.  One house (USA),  I had two taps in my foyer/bar, which led out to large open front porch (picnic table/BBQ).  One for me, PA Pilsner, and one for guest, Heineken.   When I first got to TH, definitely a weekend warrior, at home.  Not really a bar person.

Little bit Phished most days.

first beer today 9am.

but did work on house from 5.30am  too 9 am. so deserved it. on wine now.

Just curious about us expats and how we like to drink, or not.

I no longer drink alcohol because cannabis is so much cheaper.

Both makes it better, imo

Sorry for being a stick-in-the-mud party pooper…I never drink alcohol, besides for the fact that it causes physical and mental distortions, it’s poisonous. Feeling normal with a clear head is the only high I need.

Booze stopped working on me. Haven’t felt intoxicated in years.

I’ll have a small Singha with a curry and leave a quarter of it. Maybe 2-4 units a week, about half the time. The other half the time is zero. Two years ago, I was doing about a dozen units a week, every week. I feel no better.

Beer has too many empty calories for me.  I buy Lao Khao, which is basically Thai moon shine with 40% alcohol, and mix it with a soda of some kind or with soda water.  You can make is as strong as you want alcohol-wise and it's available at any 7-11 super cheap

This one, which tastes kind of like white rum and not too bad of a hangover.

Not this one, which tastes like what I imagine paint thinner would taste like and gives a horrible hangover.

I don't drink beer or spirits just a few glasses of red wine at night while watching a movie.

Half an hour ago I asked her if she can give me on more Chang. Like 20 minutes goes by with me sitting outside with empty glass. So I go check in inside. She has two double cheeseburgers ready, french fries and is finishing salad on the side. Apparently she misheard me and is making me a second dinner. How hard is to just hand me over another beer? Oh man. :post-4641-1156693976:

I'll go down the road once a week, sit with the locals and maybe have a couple of cans of Singha. But generally I prefer the occasional Belgian or German beer at home with some nice cheese.

I'm not a big drinker and stick to my 8 units a week.

Mind you there's an increasing selection of decent IPAs available now, so things might change a little.

My condolences to you on the loss of your legs.

Unless you really do have no legs, in which case I retract my statement.

Indeed. The locals here will only drink the above brand with the yellow label. They're not fond of the blue.

Often my drinking companions have too many empty heads for me but I keep calm and  carry on.

There's not a lot of minerals or vitamins in beer, which is why you need to drink so much of it

The blue is all I saw them drink out in the Isaan villages

Been off the booze for a while now, probably not been drunk in almost a year.

I've dropped about 8-10kg effortlessly too.

Really recommend it

I notice I post Jan 2024 ... just rarely.  Since then I've seen the light.

Don't drink at home anymore. Sort of a rule we have that we started around a year ago. A good/healthy one actually. Very fatty liver, from previous daily drinking, has almost completely disappeared and weight dropped 9 kilos (around 20 pounds) over 6-7 months, though exercise and diet also helped. BP normal now (assisted with low daily BP meds) and LDL around 55.

Similar with me. I stopped the alcohol maybe five months ago and now need to buy new shorts (stopped sugar and most carbs as well).

I do miss it, a little.

How do men here 60 and above still drink and not get fat?

Ha. Yes, I had to buy new pants. Down 2 sizes.
