Taxi from Suwannaphum to Pattaya
Been using Nam for years. Good service. Safe female drivers. Had a bad experience once with an erratic male driver once. Suspected he’d been up a few days on yabbadabbado. -

Australian Aged Pension
Nothing is stopping the government from doing whatever they like. If they felt inclined, they could stop any pension for any Aussie who leaves the country and doesn't return within a given period. -

Police Officer Cries Over Injured Son Following Car Accident: Sisaket
Yes, I agree You have improved this forum with your professional reporting. I remember the first article I read from you, it was the small fire at Royal Garden, here in Pattaya. There was a lot of smoke damage to the shopping centre. Thanks 🙏 -

How to I get rid of this new left hand sidebar?
My method: I began reading AN on the PC browser in reduced windows size (width) not full size. Just fiddle and the annoying sidebar p.sses off. You have to fiddle with window width and zoom factor in the browser. I have reduced the screenshot size for readability: -

Brown out Samui
They just had a big sale w/Amazon, and the YT'er Prof. Hobo, had a discount code for 20% more off. Not sure if it's still going though. Might be USA only and involve silly shipping cost. Might find online vendor in TH, with them. Ecoflow Flagship store @ LAZ -

Its Happening - Law to Tax Overseas Income Now in Progress
And your point is? I think JackGast was saying that getting a TIN is relatively simple and that one doesn't need to be a tax resident to do so.My understanding is that possession of a TIN does not compel one to submit tax return even as a tax resident if one has no assessable income.I freely admit I may be wrong about the latter part, -

Australian Aged Pension
Ok. I'll make it more simple. What's stopping the government from doing it? There are no exemptions, means testing, asset testing, or tax free threshold changes in the proposed changes. I don't see where pensions get a free pass. The DTA was put forward, but that is for government service pensions, and that's not an aged pension from Centerlink. -

Sending food back to the kitchen?
I agree. When I order food spicy, but it's not HOT enough... Then I complain. And then, the chef gives me more chili. Nothing worse than food which is not hot enough...IMHO. -

Thai gov. to tax (remitted) income from abroad for tax residents starting 2024 - Part II
Do the 100 million THB of tax-exempt allowance apply only once to the entire estate or to each individual inheritor? Example: Total estate value is 300 million THB distributed via legal testament in Thailand as follow: - Legal Thai wife: 100 million THB - Legal Thai son: 100 million THB - Legal Thai daughter: 100 million THB The legal Thai wife would be exempt from Thai inheritance tax. The remaining estate value would be 200 million THB for the legal son and daughter. What about the legal Thai son and daughter? Would they each have a personal tax-exempt allowance of 100 million THB, or would they need to pay 5% on the remaining estate value exceeding 100 million THB? I have received conflicting legal information on that subject and would appreciate your opinion. -

On the subject of tax residency I would like to raise a point about when it is determined that you're non resident or resident. This is an example which pretty much matches my 2024 travel movements for the year. Lets say I stay in Thailand from Jan 1 for 177 days and then fly to Cambodia and stay there until late December. If I return to Thailand on December 29 I will be a tax resident in Thailand for the entire year but if I return on December 30 I won't be a tax resident in Thailand. Nobody is calling their bank on December 29 / 30 to tell them that they're not tax resident for the year and the whole thing resets to zero 3 days later. Come Jan 1, 2025 nobody really knows if they will be alive for the next 180 days let alone present in Thailand. They may have plans and intentions but those can change on a whim. If I got on a plane and flew to Thailand tomorrow and stayed for a couple of weeks I would become tax resident but I'm probably not going to do that, however it won't be determined 100% until the last few days in December Oh, my point : You might not know if you're a tax resident in Thailand until the last day or two of the year and then it resets on Jan 1 - so there's not really anything to report to anyone and nobody is going to call asking at that time. If they were to call you on Jan 1, then you're back in Thailand, nobody knows if they're resident until they've been in Thailand for the full 180 days. -

Tik Shiro Car Crash Sparks Demand for Alcohol Test Inquiry
My wifes father was killed by a drunken police driver, lucky for her there were heaps of witnesses and my wife stood up to the police and they caved in and gave her 300,000 Bhat. Not much and the cop got off. -
