earlinclaifornia Posted March 20, 2024 Posted March 20, 2024 Looks like the rats are fleeing the sinking ship when we have the lastest news on fundraising. Possibly this is due to MAGA GOP realizing he is not at all rich. Why would he lie? The 2 eldest sons are probably on suicide watch, depressed at watching dad p_ss away their inheritance on this dopey president stuff. Mel probably sitting pretty with a carve-out settled years ago, she gets the boy. 2

bamnutsak Posted March 20, 2024 Posted March 20, 2024 ^ Quickly. She said maybe, within 30 days. Mar-a-lago, which she suggested, has quite a few stipulations re: use. I don't think it could be razed and redeveloped. 1

It's simple - he has broken the Law, (countless times). There's 6 months to go and it's my opinion Trump's descent into 'looneytunes' territory will lose him all but his most ardent supporters. Have a look at Trump's Dayton speech - he's really lost it! Of course Joe Biden is too old to stand again but he is the much lesser of two evils. I've been of the impression for many years ( decades) that there is something very wrong with the American justice system, and it's more about money than justice. Nevertheless, IMO a senile Trump would be better than Harris, as IMO she is likely to be installed as POTUS within a year should Biden win. Biden and Harris, IMO, are at the very pinnacle of what is wrong with Washington, that causes so many millions of Americans to despise it so much that they'd rather have Trump than HRC, who was a Washingtonian to her very core. 2 1 1

They seem somewhat un-necessary nowadays. 1 2

The electoral college is here to stay as it's enshrined inn the constitution and IMO not even one small state will ever vote to replace it with a majority vote. 1 1

Popular Post Chomper Higgot Posted March 20, 2024 Popular Post Posted March 20, 2024 We are now learning that Trump’s statements in his submission for a stay in the penalty of $464 Million are, no surprise la here, not entirely truthful. He produced no evidence as to why he can’t get a bond or bonds while it is now being revealed he refused to allow properties he was offering as collateral to be appraised by the bond companies he was asking to underwrite the bond(s) he needs. Put simply ‘Trump asks bond companies to accept the valuations he gives as he seeks a bond to challenge a ruling he lost on the very issue of fraudulent valuations’. 3 1

jerrymahoney Posted March 21, 2024 Posted March 21, 2024 Opinion Fair’s fair: Trump should be able to appeal the judgment against him By Ruth Marcus Washington Post Associate editor March 19, 2024 at 4:07 p.m. EDT On the topic of Donald Trump’s asserted inability to scrounge the money to post bond and appeal the mega-judgment in his New York civil fraud case, by all means: Let’s enjoy a good chortle at seeing Trump hoisted on the petard of his own braggadocio about his supposedly vast wealth. Then let’s pause and consider: Is it fair to require Trump to post a bond of this magnitude to be able to appeal the judgment against him — $464 million, including interest? Look, no one more deserves to be mistreated, and no one more deserves a system rigged against him, than Trump. As Trump’s lawyers argued to the state appeals court: “A bond requirement of this enormous magnitude, effectively requiring cash reserves approaching $1 billion, is unprecedented for a private company. Even when it comes to publicly traded companies, courts routinely waive or reduce the bond amount. Enforcing an impossible bond requirement as a condition of appeal would inflict manifest irreparable injury” on Trump. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2024/03/19/trump-appeal-fraud-judgment-464-million-bond/ Yes can appeal. jerrymahoney Posted March 21, 2024 Posted March 21, 2024 Panic mode sets in for Trump as he faces deadline for massive bond Updated 7:16 AM EDT, Wed March 20, 2024 Former President Donald Trump is in panic mode as the deadline approaches to secure a half-billion-dollar bond to appeal his civil fraud case in New York, according to multiple sources familiar with his thinking. As Trump and his legal team wait to see whether an appeals court will pause the judgment as he appeals it, or allow him to pay a smaller bond of $100 million, he has privately expressed opposition to any path concerning filing for bankruptcy, and it remains the least likely for now, one person familiar with the talks told CNN. In order to stop the state from enforcing the judgment, Trump has to post a bond to be held in an account pending the appellate process, which could take years to litigate. https://edition.cnn.com/2024/03/19/politics/trump-bond-deadline-panic/index.html?iid=cnn_buildContentRecirc_end_recirc 1 1
