Bye Bob.  Thailand certainly isn't for everyone.  At least you can still keep entertaining us on this Forum.

Why is it people with a heightened sense of their own importance always feel the need to announce their supposed departure, yet they are never the ones to actually leave ?  Is it a trolling way to build up hope for others ? You see it in real life and online forums, facebook groups etc. The genuine people who are serious about it realise it's only important to themselves and quietly do it with no grandstanding fanfare.

I'm surprised you didn't go LTR visa with annual notifications, multi re-entries, back to back five year stays and other benefits. Thai Elite might have been an alternative. On the other hand getting permanent residence (SRRV Smile, Expanded Courtesy) in The Philippines appears much accessible to you than Thailand.

Maybe the gym you used was badly organised but the one I go to is very well organised. On the other hand it could just be your expectations were not met.
