As it seems there is no way of extending the expiry date of my current 1-year 30 Mbps unlimited download SIM (only possible when opting for a pricy and low Mbps subscription), I will reach out as you recommended to Mobile2you and hope they still have these SIMs in stock.

The change of number is a pain, but I don't want to settle for a 10 Mbps package at 3.745,- THB (see previous post) just in order to keep my number.

A happy ending...

I just ordered a new 1-year 30 Mbps unlimited download SIM, directly from Mobile2You (cost 2.790,- THB), which will be delivered tomorrow (pay on arrival).

Note that these SIMs are not available anymore via Lazada/Shopee nor in dTac shops or directly from dTac, but good to know that you can still get them directly from Mobile2You.

Thanks to everybody for responses on my query.

Excuse my ignorance but do you get a new telephone number with a sim card or can I use my old number. The reason I ask I have just bought another phone and I repaired the old phone and it is now without a card.🥴

Thanks

Have you tried contacting DTac to see what they can offer you? I know, it is an extreme idea but sometimes it works.

Yes, I did.

This morning I wrote a message to dTac Support on Facebook:

> Hi, I currently have a dTac 1-year 30 Mbps unlimited download SIM which I bought last year at Lazada/Shopee and which will expire soon. Is there an option to extend that SIM with another year with same specifications, i.e. 30 Mbps and unlimited download.
- Four hours later I received following response from dTac:
> Unfortunately, the promotion for 30 Mbps unlimited Internet is applicable with a new SIM only, and the promotion period already ended.
dTac then wrote ... We have alternatives as follows: ... and provided three different options to extend my 1-year unlimited download SIM, but none of them at 30 Mbps.
* 1 Mbps = 1.926, - THB

* 4 Mbps = 2.675, - THB

* 10 Mbps = 3.745, - THB

I had exactly the same issue. I reached out to mobile2you with Lazada messaging, they directed me to their line account. They said they no longer sell them on Lazada or Shoppee but I could buy direct from them for 2790 which is exactly what I did.  Quick delivery, a hour to register online with DTAC, I now have another year.

Could you provide the link to mobile2you website? I tried Mobile2You.com and co.th and got nowhere... Thanks.

I just did that, they replied with "Now the product [30mbps] is out of stock. Unlimited internet customers have a maximum speed of 15mbps. Are you interested in using it first?"

On the other hand, looks like Melon Thai is having it again, though the price is 1k more than last year..

In short the stock availability seems to change month to month.

Thanks to @sungod I ordered end of April that 1-year 30 Mbps Unlimited Download SIM at Mobile2You, and it was delivered next day.  Price has indeed doubled (2.780, - THB) since my previous one, but even so it is still a bargain.

As of this morning - just when I am ready to shop for a new sim -

it looks like 30mbps is "Out of stock" all across the board :=(

(Only 15 mbps available, albeit at the SAME price!)

Mobile2You didn't put the option to order that 30Mbps Unlimited download SIM on their website, so I contacted them and asked about it.  I got almost immediate response that when I want it that I just have to let them know and they woud send over.  That's what I did and I paid on arrival (which was next day).

That;s what I did last week, and I posted their response here:

Never a dull moment. No sooner I just placed an order for a 15 mbps dtac 1-yr sim at 2590 baht. Then shows up this 30mbps also from dtac from OppoKoreatown....Delivery 7-8 June. Price 3000 baht. Hmm...

Another 30 mbps in stock, this one from Mobile2you - whom I just inquired this morning and again they said no - but shipped from overseas...

WOW, 1.026,- THB for a 1-year 30 Mpbs unlimited downlead SIM!  That's an absolute bargain, as it was already a very good deal at 3.000,- THB.

Think I will order one already for use next year, when my current one expires.

Checked the expiry date of my current 30 Mbps unlimited download one, and it is exactly 1 year after I registered that SIM when it arrived.

I'm just looking at the "fine prints:"

The first 30mbps from OppoKoreatown seems to be issued in Thailand (2 day delivery). Never heard of Oppokoreatown...

the 2nd 30 mbps from Mobile2you is shipped from overseas.

The one you boght from Mobile2you in April took 1 day to arrive, correct?

Thanks. As mentioned, earlier this morning I messaged mobile2you regarding the 30 mbps and they told me still out of stock.

So for these 2 cards to show up, it looks very suspicious, since the provenance (seller) is unknown, or branded mobile2you but sold overseas by weird name (pajamas pa) sellers with dodgy ratings. So I think I'll pass.

same deal but was 1400 so basically 30 bt more...230 a month for 6 months stay........use my hotspot to stream and using it now to type......onto the bike to stream spotify for hours then watch movies etc when i get home...def get my $$$ worth!

I don't understand any of this..... "AIS 200 month unlimited data...." What is that?

I have AIS Unlimited 10 Mbps with Unlimited 15 minute calls for when I'm in Thailand. 200 baht per month. It is perpetually extended. Perhaps you meant that package.

Now you are saying a girl in an AIS shop gave you the same deal for 1400 baht for six months. I think not, otherwise you would just continue the same package at the same price. She gave you another package and you don't seem to understand what she actually gave you. Is it this? Welcome to AIS One-2-Call! – LIVE DIGITAL, LIVE Detail

  • SIM Price at 1,400 Baht (Valid for 6 months)
  • Enjoy internet access at 4 Mbps for 20 GB/ month. After the limit is reached, continue access at 128 Kbps.
  • Call in AIS 1 Baht/hour

Or if earlier this year, it might be a Mao Mao Marathon add-on for Unlimited 4Mbps. Since you state Unlimited, it could be that.

Looked into it: Mao Mao Marathon 4 Mbps 6 months for 1400 baht. 12 months for 2500 baht

There is also Mao Mao Marathon 6Mbps 6 month 1800 baht and 12 month for 3500 baht.

May be useful for someone who wants unlimited data with an existing AIS SIM.

Confirmed scam, Lazada is aware but does not take the add down.

Mobile2You in bkk on lazada had an appalling review rating, many complain that they order 30mbs and receive 20mbs, others say they get download speeds of 5mbs from a 30mbs sim, order at your own risk.

The 1-year 30 Mbps unlimited download SIM I ordered from Mobile2You does exactly what's promised - it provides up to 30 Mbps download speed, provides unlimited download and is valid for 1 year from the moment that you register the SIM.

I already have a 30 Mbps unlimited download SIM from dTac which is valid till mid April next year.  But I ordered that advertised SIM for use next year, as the price was 3 times lower than the Mobile2You one I have.  And indeed the seller did sent me a different SIM than the one I ordered.  That SIM featured maximum download speed, whether it was unlimited download was unclear (it said 50 GB on the SIM), and it had 100 free phone calls per month to any provider.  Quite a good deal for 1.064,- THB.  That particular DtAC  I might have considered keeping the one that they did sent me, were it not that it was already registered and expiry date was 30 March 2025.  So I contacted Lazada that it was not the product that I had ordered, and the courier came to pick it up again within hours, in the days after that I received a message from Lazada that the money I paid on delivery is on my Wallet, and can be either send to my Thai bank-account or can be used for later orders.

So yes, somewhat of a scam by the seller, advertising a different product than what he sends over.  Actually I don't understand why the seller does not advertise the ACTUAL product that they will provide, as that one is not available anywhere in Thailand and is a very fine deal.

Of course it is not a 'fine deal' 😊

It's a Tourist SIM that has a 10 day duration package and costs 349 baht.

> FYI - I am located in SiSaKet province, 10 km from nearest small town, 35 km from Khantaralak, 79 km from SiSaKet city and 95 km from Ubon Ratchathani.  The expression 'living in the sticks' aptly summarizes my location.  Obviously there is no cable here, so I rely on the SIM in my mobile phone to get Internet connection, which I use as hotspot to my laptop.

Just did a small test using https://speedtest.adslthailand.com/

And my 1-year 30 Mbps unlimited download SIM shows 26.9 Mbps download speed average

Needless to say that that allows for streaming HD-movies without any glitches.

But of course I agree that the download speed will vary according to location.

I’ve got to do something to make my home WiFi internet simple and more reliable.

My mobile phone service is with AIS, and the package I have with that number includes 100 g of internet per month, which is throttled after 5 gb.  I use my phone as a hotspot when I’m traveling. That has always worked great.

I also have an AIS 4G WiFi router that has its own separate number and its own SIM card.  It has one Ethernet connection, so I can connect my Apple TV box.  Anyway, when it works, it works ok, but it isn’t that fast. It also slows to a crawl every so often until I turn it off and then turn it back on again at which time it seems to establish a new connection with a possibly different server?  So I have to do that ten times a day. Annoying. Maybe I’m doing something wrong or I’m expecting too much.

What I’d  like to find is a SIM card and router for data.  Unlimited download at a reasonable speed that I don’t have to fool around with all the time. I went to the True store at the mall to see what they had, but the guy I spoke with didn’t really speak English very well. He showed me a router for 2000 baht or so, and a 12 month SIM with 100 gb at 1.5 MBS. That SIM was around 1700 baht, if I remember correctly. At the time, I couldn’t figure out if the 100 gb was meant to last all year, or whether you got that every month, full speed. So I didn’t buy anything. I wouldn’t mind if I had to pay 1700 a month.

At my condo, I can get TMN cable and internet, or a package from True.  The girl in the condo office seemed to think TMN was the way to go. Maybe I should just try one of those services.  Cost isn’t an issue, but I don’t want to throw money away if I don’t have to.
