Patong – Russian and Israeli Motorbike riders were arrested in Patong for drunk driving.

The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that earlier this week they had set up a police checkpoint on the Phra Metta Road in Patong after midnight until 2:30 A.M..

Two suspicious male foreign motorbike riders were stopped at the police checkpoint. They were both aged 28-years-old and were Russian and Israeli.

Serving alcohol until 4am what did the expect....

I suggest tourists should not be allowed to rent any big bikes.

Something like this should be good enough to get from A to B on that island.

Well how about that.....

In possession of a technology to measure blood alcohol level, but they always forget at the station any hand held speed radar. Pulling over a vehicle for speeding might be construed as a denial of freedom...

this type of selective biased reporting is not doing Phuket tourism any favors, how about a full report of all the checkpoints and how many DUI's were detected from all those tested, why just report on two foreigners

Yes, but the chances are lower on a little bike.

What a silly thing to do while seeking a refugee in Thailand.

Looks like he(the Russian)  just signed  OWN DEATH CERTIFICATE.

Likely to be kicked out from here and return to the home country of his Nightmare from which he escaped(to dodge his draft for Poo-tin's war without cause).

What now awaits him is, the Meat Grinder in Ukrainian front...

All that bare skin.... Its gonna hurt. She's already lost one shoe and it looks like he's bracing for impact.

Crash bars might save the engine but not her hair style.  Not much in the way of frontal airbags either.

What was he thinking... letting her drive???

This might be safer to ride....

But I still wouldn't want to fall off it.

Time to really clamp down on bike hire shops, I doubt people from both of these countries have M/C licenses. Especially Russians.

So if they stopped selling alcohol at 2 am or midnight, everyone would be sober on the way home?

If you want something to blame; if the cops would just stop the taxi mafia and force meter taxis all over the island, the temptation to take your own bike on nights out would be much smaller.

Going to war with Ukraine is 100% voluntary for more than a year, but such comments still popping at the forum

Here in Luang Prabang the motorcycle hire shops are only allowed to rent smaller motorbikes or electric bikes to tourists.  The Snoopy bikes with sidecars are very popular with Chinese tourists who seem unable to balance on 2 wheels... 🙂

Wouldn't have thought you would be kicked out of Thailand for drinking and driving .

Be honest a lot of these tourists be riding a lot slower and more carefully when drunk than sober...!!! 🤪 Leave them alone...

Now car drunk drivers are far more dangerous... 🤬
