True, but I was going by I read online at the time, surely the news outlets have the time, personnel and supposed know how to follow up and get the story straight.

What news site reported this? All I saw was some chump on Reddit who initially reported that they had broken the nose of a bar girl,  and he started off as an eye witness, then claimed his girlfriend worked at the bar, then claimed his girlfriend knew someone who worked at the bar.
He was also the one who claimed one victim had died.

If the lad don't die it would be Grievous bodily harm.

Don't think so? Although 3 days in a coma already means he's well on the way for his 20 days in the last criteria

Section 297. Grievous Bodily Harm

Whoever, commits bodily harm, and thereby causing the victim to receive grievous bodily harm, shall be punished with imprisonment of six months to ten years. Grievous bodily harms are as follows:

Thanks for the dribble and confirming  GBH  ....  if the lad actually presses charges.

Which neither he or the other lad has done, infact the police have stated they have had no reports of this lad from hospitals and until such time there is no charges to be pursued.

smells like a setup for a GFM.

In fact, there needs to be more beat downs of tourist who refuse to pay their bar bill, if one tries to skate without paying. But at lease keep it real, and beat down the one who didn't pay, and if his friend(s) what some of that smoke, then beat them down too. I don't see the problem here. It's almost international protocol.

Maybe she meant "push him", as that is what she said and it is a thing that someone can do?

Totally savage attitude as usual from the Thai bouncers who deep in themselves, hate all falangs in Pattaya.

But to their discharge, when we see the attutide of many young brits, americains, aussies, NZ', europeans in Thailand and their drunken arrogance, not surprising that such despicable situations occur.

Totally ban booze and 75% of the problems will be solved. Of course it will never happen.

Depends upon the nature of the inflated bar bill. If the amount is small, then treat it as a tip.
if amount is substantial, then ask for the manager or management person. Pay the disputed bill, take snapshot of the bill, then return later the next day to view the cctv if available. Definitely the bar is not allowing you to walk away without payment.
cities like shanghai or Hong Kong has bouncers to make sure you pay the stipulated bill regardless. It is similar all over the world. You got to have your wits about you. Logic and fairness do not exist in these environment. That is why they are called girlie nightclubs.

To make it short: They've paid the bills.
Even, if not. It still wouldn't justify this artificially accelerated, and criminal incident, by those security thugs.
Talking to the manager:
The waitress (with the “broken” nose)?
Or the one, who called the security thugs?
The next day (!), coming back?
Watching CCTV?
Together with the annoyed manager (and your snapshot in hand)?

LOL! Give me a break!

Btw, who published the CCTV footage, from inside the bar, anyway?
Normally, in those situations, CCTV “brake failures” occurring.

Why should you pay an inflated bar bill?

Because foreigner tourists are stupid and don't first check the price and pay straightaway as soon as the drinks are served. Not paying immediately and letting the tab add-up, is an open door to get cheated in such seedy bars of prostitution.

The tourists apparently tried running a scam at the bar.
3 guys each had their own "bin". 1 guy's bin was 2,800 baht.

The other two guys paid their (smaller) bins, then one of them and the guy with the large bill left the bar.

That left the guy in the white shirt who waited a bit and then tried to leave as well.

Staff stopped him because his friend hadn't paid. That is when an argument broke out because "white shirt" was going on about having paid his bill (which he had as a part of the scam).

The cashier called for Security and when they showed  up the other guy suddenly agreed to pay his bill. The cashier thought that would be the end of it but apparently "white shirt" for some reason decided to shove one of the security guys.

(In her words he "rushed to push him" so I'm guessing she meant "shoved him".)

And that's when the fight started.

Apparently there is CCTV footage of the whole incident in the bar showing what happened before it went out into the street and the police have a copy of that.

People have been trying to scam their way out of paying their bar bills for years.
Couple guys go to a bar, run up a tab then one of them leaves.
Couple minutes later the other guy "suddenly gets an important call", stands up, walks around and tries to "wander off" while pretending he's distracted by the phone call.

This has happened a couple times on Walking Street in the not so distant past. Guy in a go-go, runs up a tab, suddenly gets a call and tries to "step outside to take the call" and then "forget" which bar he'd been drinking in.

Which often leads to "security" reminding him and him ending up on the front page.

I've watched people try those scams. 2 Indians in my buddy's beer bar tried the "one guy leaves then the other guy gets a phone call" routine but the girls stopped him before he could get to the street.

In another friends go-go bar. Guy runs up a tab and "gets a phone call" and tries to go outside to talk, pointing out that he'd left his cigarettes and lighter on the table.
The cigarette pack was empty and the lighter was dead of course.

They all think they've come up with the perfect scam to stiff a bar out of a bill they've run up but they don't realize the girls/cashiers/mamasan/managers are watching them like hawks.

And they've all seen people try those same scams over and over again.

Like the guys trying the "I'll just go grab some money from the ATM and be right back to pay my bill" scam.

Which is why the bars usually send a staffer with them so they don't (conveniently) forget which bar they'd run up a tab in.

The actions by the guards was excessive, even if "white shirt" initiated the physical part by shoving the security guy.

And kicking him in the head when he was down and out on the ground is just plain criminal.

The police should be looking at training, testing and registering anyone that works as Security. Weed out the psychos, addicts and criminals.

Oh right, I forgot where we are.

20 years ago I'd run up bar bills of 12-18,000 baht in a night. Once in a blue moon I'd be short on cash and ask the momasan where the nearest ATM was and she'd send a service girl with me. I knew why she was there. No big deal.

Normally, if I saw I was getting close to not having enough money - I'd simply pay my bill then and there and then go find an ATM machine on my own.

31 years of coming here/living here and never had a problem in any bar or go-go club.

Funny how that works eh ?

Is there a link for 'they were running a scam'...... where did you get that information from.?

So the famed Nightwish Group employed these goons to " protect Soi 6 bars" Need to lift you game fellas.

A couple of confused jokers who have obviously no idea about the group associated with the involvement of bars in Pattaya need to do some research.

Not bagging Pattaya Addicts or NightWish Group but they do need to lift their game.

Closed threads on PA website does nothing to help their credibility.

Even a hundred farang deaths would not change the Thai authorities' approach in such cases.  Farangs are not important (connected).  Nothing to see here, fined B100.

actually, if its true that the farangs were running a scam, i can see why the thai authorities would turn a blind eye.

tourist countries do want to protect tourists because tourists are a large part of the GDP and bring in lots of $$.

nobody cares about YOU, but they do care about your money.

but when tourists start stealing, then the gloves are off. they will protect the locals.

From the video inside the bar & other commentary it looked like the guy in the black shirt (believe it was actually blue ) who looks like he's trying to calm it all down outside was actually the one who didn't pay his bill (Hence White shirt was adamant he'd already paid his & wouldn't pay again) & he was also the guy who shoved the other Farang outside.

Yeah his role in all this is a tad confusing. Seemed to be a peace maker when it all kicked off, but seemingly seems to be acting like an idiot before the security turns up. Odd.

Khaosod reporting that the bar attempted to make the farang in the white pay another person's bill after he had paid his own. When they tried he refused, became annoyed and verbally abusive. Security arrived and then started fighting and assaulting the punters.

Speaking today, Sergeant Major Arthon from the Pattaya City police station, said that the three security guards have since been warned about their conduct but they have not been arrested or charged.

He said: 'The tourist in the video who was attacked has not filed a police report, so we cannot assign an investigating officer. There's no case open until they complain. We've had a look around but can't find them.

'Yes, we're still checking CCTV to see what happened to them. There are rumours that he is in intensive care but we haven't heard anything from hospitals.'"

Welcome UK Daily Mail readers showing how Thai's treat Brit tourists:

"The guards were seen kicking at the legs and chest of the man in white - before another bouncer came running in from the side and blasted him in the head with a full-force kick, immediately knocking him unconscious.

He was seen lying motionless for minutes after the vicious blow, with onlookers unable to revive him."
