Police Impersonator Assaults Woman in Pattaya Bar

In an unsettling incident early this morning at a popular Pattaya bar, a woman was groped by a man who deceitfully introduced himself as a police inspector. The attack occurred on South Pattaya Road, prompting immediate police intervention.

The victim, a 39-year-old Thai woman named Aim, reported that she was approached by a group of about ten men while enjoying an evening out. One man, who identified himself only as Inspector Bee from Rayong, struck up a conversation with her.

After a friendly exchange and a toast, he left only to return and assault her. The perpetrator reached under her shirt, an act that left Aim shocked and violated.

Aim bravely challenged the assailant, questioning the integrity of his claimed police status. Disturbingly, his companions tried to intimidate her, reinforcing his false identity and discouraging her from reacting. However, Aim quickly alerted the real police. Upon their arrival, the alleged inspector and his group fled the scene.

Pattaya City Police have launched a full investigation following Aim's official complaint. They are currently attempting to identify the man and his accomplices, believed to have escaped through the bar’s back exit.

This troubling incident underscores ongoing concerns about safety in nightlife districts and the audacity of individuals impersonating law enforcement officers to commit crimes. Aim's immediate response and the prompt arrival of actual police officers have been crucial in taking steps towards addressing these challenges.

The community and authorities remain vigilant, hopeful that such bold impostures and violations can be curtailed to ensure the safety and security of citizens and tourists alike in Pattaya's bustling nightlife.

What a strange sentence. Was that to check if he was of a high enough rank to carry out the assault?

First I would trust a Thai cop less than any other Thai. Was he from the FBI, Female Body Inspectors.

"They are currently attempting to identify the man"...............Surely the photo suggests they have got the man!!!!!!!

I saw the headline and immediately think of the police volunteers, especially the foreign ones who like to dress up around walking street

Misleading picture, representing a farang (isn't the fake cop still on the run, thai ?).

Let's see - sexual assault, impersonating a police officer, fleeing the incident seen, just for starters. Should be at least THB 1000 plus fine.

Probably cost her more getting the police off their arses.

They do not know if he was not really an inspector. So this incident underscores nothing. If anything, it underscores the distinct possibility that he really was an inspector and fled because he was not in his jurisdiction as stated. And there are many instances of police abusing their power to intimidate or harass women using their position albeit locally or in another city.

People beware, anyone, even police or inspectors, do not have the right to grope you.

was the Owner of the bar not around or not able to be contacted when this incident was taking place? This group of fake cops were in there for a while, left and then returned. Was the owner not alerted? As they are typically RTP this incident probably wouldn't have happened.

Just checking the gender... down-under style.

not much meat on thai chicken, but totally inappropriate...   did a westerner not have to pay tens of thousands in damages for an ass grab ?

Wearing trousers that's why he went up her shirt, could have been worse

Obviously a bar for Thais if there were no SEAL Team Six or Delta Force commandos on hand to help her.

An entirely baseless and scurrilous implication! All RTP officers are unfailingly honest, with the highest moral standards, paragons of virtue and unimpeachable representatives of all that is best in Thai culture and society!

Why is that?

I saw his comment and immediately thought of some old geezer sitting in some decrepit bar, nursing 50 baht Chang beers every day, thinking he is better than people who volunteer their time to help people and be there to translate when necessary.

This incident is deplorable, of course, but it doesn't surprise me that it took place in a bar in Pattaya. That's the reason I've never been and will never go to Pattaya.

Groping females in bars and females groping me is the main reason most of us love Pattaya.

Sounds like the fake cop had been reading Trumps Art of the Deal, Grab em by the Pussy chapter.

I'm COMPLETELY serious.  How do they know it's a impersonator? With the attitude and what all the Thai Police do and get away with all the time......

impersonating a police officer is a common problem in Pattaya.

You often see them hanging around the Soi 9 area,  of beach road. :whistling:

How about he was a police officer. As face saving tactic by police they disowned it.

It's too bad that they never name the bar where the assault or other incidents have happened.  Oh well, TIT.

Aaahh, So he pulled a Biden??!!

No, that would be Trump.  Biden only does family members.

An unfortunate reminder on common sense that calls many a decent lady to keep away from any bar in Pattaya, the lovely "family" resort....
