The Department of Corrections (DOC) has announced that former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra is expected to receive a certificate of innocence within 120 days following his release under a royal pardon.

The process to issue Thaksin’s certificate of innocence, which allows him to travel abroad, involves coordination between provincial governors, prison chiefs, judges, and prosecutors. The Thon Buri Special Remand Prison chief will submit Thaksin’s details to the Thon Buri Criminal Court as part of the procedure for all pardoned prisoners.

Only one persons nod is needed for a "certificate of innocence", all others just follow suit, or else.

Amazing how quickly someone can fully recover from life threatening illness after being pardoned...

A certificate of innocence.. and how about violating section 112?? Or does it mean that he can show tro court that he has done nothing wrong??? Stupidity is really worse than you can imagine here

Even better, Congrats P'Thaksin.... finally you are declared innocent.

Certificate of Innocence is either translated badly or is just total nonsense.

He is a convicted felon / criminal.

His punishment was reduced by Royal Pardon in weeks from eight years to one, which he never served a day in prison anyhow. To the normal convicted criminal, a Royal Pardon takes years to even be presented. He managed it in about two/ three weeks.

Royal Pardon doesn't make him innocent. Royal Pardon is forgiveness.

The only way a person can be found innocent, is to present new evidence and to obtain a retrial, and be found not guilty.

So, the whole saga, is pure nonsense.

actually, nearly fully recovered before his release on bail, although he did need a neck brace and arm sling for a few days following release, but this rapidly cleared up after a few days of garnering sympathy from his ardent followers.

A certificate of innocence is essential because it is otherwise not clear to most Thais that Thaksin is innocent.  He should carry it with him all the time.

A pardon is not evidence of innocence.

I only accept those clearly marked 'Khao San Road Printing Press Co Ltd'

He already travelled abroad as a prisoner when he went to that Birthday party in Cambodia

So where did the guy accumulate all his great well, I mean, like billions corruption corruption corruption leaves the country 15 years flies back in the $65 million jet less than a year he’s completely innocent of any all charges in his sister. She’s ready to convicted for stealing, even though she’s heavily guarded in her home, she was able to escape and flee the country, and now the icing on the cake, the guy comes back to fixes in less than a year. His daughter is the Prime Minister who would ever believe this. TIT

Hope you're saving up the rental payments from Pee Thaksin cos he's living in your head.

"Royal pardon doesn't make him innocent". Hmm.... but an official "Certificate of Innocence" does though.

No, it doesn't.

It's a badly worded / translated form which allows him permission to travel outside Thailand.

To be declared innocent, the conviction would need to be quashed, and it has not been.

Why aren't you getting it, is it too much for you to take in?

Pee Thaksin, are you a dafty or what?
