Thailand Leads Infidelity Statistics Globally

Ever wondered how your country fared in a worldwide study of unfaithfulness? A report recently identified the 25 countries where infidelity tends to occur most.

 

It's vital to note that living in one of the top 10 countries with high infidelity rates doesn't necessarily mean you'll marry a cheater. Conversely, living where cheating rates are low doesn't secure a happy marriage. Still, deciphering these trends can provide useful insights into global behaviour and norms.

 

Research suggests that economic adversity, such as seen in certain areas of Scotland termed the world's infidelity capitals, can contribute to unfaithfulness. Factors like anger, low self-esteem, lack of affection, and craving diversity often prompt people to be unfaithful. Intriguingly, many who cheat still value monogamy, with motivations varying among genders. Men typically cheat when they feel unloved, while women become unfaithful when feeling unattractive.

 

To gain a better understanding, a study by Bebdible Research Centre in September 2022 examines global infidelity trends in-depth. The study analyzes over 1.9 million data points from 23,872 respondents, provides an overview of change in infidelity rates since 1960, and discusses trends in relation to gender, age, and nationality.

 

 

 

 

Here are some countries with the highest rates of infidelity:

 

• Cyprus (34%): Despite being a popular wedding destination, about 34% of its residents have been unfaithful.
• Argentina (34%): Even in this Latin American country, about 34% of the populace has cheated, proving that even a legal ceremony can't ensure fidelity.
• United States (35%): A study by Pew Research found that approximately 35% of married Americans have been unfaithful.
• Thailand (51%): Thailand tops the list, with an infidelity rate influenced by cultural norms such as mia noi (translated as 'little wife') and a booming sex industry

That reminds me of a video with a couple of interviews with Japanese women which I saw not long ago.

The women were asked if they consider it infidelity if their husbands visit prostitutes or only if they have a "real" relationship.

Many of those Japanese women said they don't see it as infidelity if their husbands visit prostitutes.

 

With that information in mind, the statistic would probably look very different.

I think diseases are also a deterence.

 

That said I would admit the first thing I judge when I see a woman is whether I would like to have sex with her.  There is a saying, "It's not where you get your appetite, It's where you go for dinner."

 

I guess the biggest thing is not to get yourself in situations where you could get weak and succumb to your desires.

Asked my Thai GF about this and she got pretty upset. She said she was completly faithful. In her words she would never be unfaithful to either me, or her Thai husband that she married in her teens.  And I believe her.

It is so available here. And very easy. In the US it is harder to find. You have to work much harder. It is further underground. And having a mistress is completely ridiculous. Too risky and too costly. So, for many it is occasional casual sex with a stranger. Which is fun, easy and inexpensive. No big deal.

Closely tied to this is the large percentage of children who are not the natural child of the husbands who thinks they are theirs. I think in some countries it is in the 20%-30% range. Without abortions, it would likely be higher. Seems like the ladies are far more likely to give themselves over to a Chad when they are ovulating and put out for their cuck husbands to keep the rent paid.
