Interactive Wire Transfer In Baht to Bangkok Bank - BBK Transfer fees?
There is no obvious way to see if the receiving Thai bank (Bangkok bank in my case) charged that .25% fee. The bank statement just shows the resulting amount of ฿ with no explanation of exchange rate or fees. How did you "offer to pay all charges"? I assume that choice was at your originating bank. I don't think that would cover any fees by the receiving bank, only for intermediary banks if any. -

Any reports of recent ME Non-I O visa (marriage) in region?
No. Would only be valid for the 90 day stamp from the non O OR if have applied for the extension it would be valid for till date they give you for under consideration period. It's of interest. So you did this in Bangkok. Did you use an agent? You could have supplied a COR so did you buy insurance? It might be easier to just exit and reenter visa exempt each time till such a time that you see a big enough time slot inside to do the ve to non O to 12 month extension. Re home visit ....that depends on your immigration office. Most offices would do home visit and you are required to be present -

Wife transfers from dependent visa to Retirement Visa in case I pass away before her.
I have no doubt that you've helped others through the process.....good on you. However, where you get the notion that under Thai law that one's spouse is the "automatic beneficiary unless the Will states otherwise" is beyond me. I invite you to read the intestate law contained with the Thai Civil and Commercial Code. AsBigt3116 says, the wife or spouse is a statutory heir...but not the only one! For example only, under intestate succession: (1) If Decedent left a spouse and children, the spouse gets half and the children get half, (2) If Decedent left no kids but a spouse and parents, the spouse gets half and the parents get half, (3) If Decedent left no kids and no parents but full-blood siblings, the spouse gets half and the siblings get half, etc. Bottom-line, of course, is that anybody having assets within Thailand should have a Thai Will so you get to pick who gets your money and stuff. Also, technically it would be illegal for a surviving spouse to raid a bank account in his/her spouse's name.....although, if the surviving spouse is the sole beneficiary under a Will or under intestate succession laws, it happens and is considered "no harm, no foul" (nobody is likely ever to raise the issue other than a weird circumstance where some relative jumps out of the woodwork and asserts that the Will was a product of coercion or duress or where there is no Will and the intestate law says they get a share). -

Honest Question: How is Trump a 'threat to Democracy'?
Actually it's 3 quarters. And it makes it harder to count the votes? Seriously? Maybe if some loon demands hand recounts, but even then, how hard is "much harder". Basically, it's still arithmetic. -

Baht becoming ridiculously strong
You bought gold for the long term to preserve your purchasing power. A similar thing happened in Canada in the early 2000s. Gold was going up significantly against the US dollar but not against the Canadian dollar, which frustrated many Canadian gold investors. Eventually the price of gold broke out and rose manyfold over the years against the Canadian dollar as well. -

Honest Question: How is Trump a 'threat to Democracy'?
Actually that looks pretty good. But you'd still need four fifths of the states to peform constitutional surgery, and since many states benefit from EC, this never going to happen.
