Thai Actress’s Brother Refuses Settlement with Russian Attacker

The younger brother of actress Chalida Vijitvongthong has refused to settle with a Russian man who allegedly assaulted him after he intervened to help a restaurant employee. The incident took place in the early hours of last Wednesday (September 25) at a restaurant on Ratchadapisek Soi 3, Bangkok.

Rachai Vijitvongthong, 29, was struck by a series of kicks and punches from an unnamed deaf Russian man at around 2 a.m., after attempting to stop the man from attacking the restaurant employee. Rachai later required three days of medical treatment, according to a certificate he submitted to the Huai Khwang police station.

Pol. Col. Prasopchok Aimpinij, head of the Huai Khwang station, stated that due to the assailant's deafness, a Russian sign language interpreter is necessary for the investigation. The interpreter is expected tomorrow, after which charges will be formally filed, reported Thai Rath.

Although the interpreter relayed the Russian man's regret, Mr. Rachai was unmoved by apologies or offers of negotiation. He insisted on a formal confession from the attacker, stating that he would proceed with a lawsuit within 48 hours if no confession was made.

Pol. Col. Prasopchok further explained the legal process: "If the case goes to court and the individual is sentenced to prison, he will serve his sentence in Thailand before any consideration of deportation by the Immigration Bureau."

This case highlights the commitment to following due legal processes, ensuring justice is served without yielding to informal settlements, even in the face of apologies. It reflects growing public frustration with violence and a demand for accountability.

The Russian sounds like a real scumbag ....  send him to jail then the front lines in Donbas or somewhere near a landing missile.

The police must be hating this. They’re being forced to do the leg work in a proper investigation.

2 am in the morning, after a night of drinking. What coud go wrong? So the Russian thought he could play the "deaf" victim card to explain that this was all about "verbal misunderstanding". The photo shows otherwise. Not a good optics for the Russian.

If i ever see this Russian bully i am going to tell him that he's a waanker.

I can call him worse than that coz he will never hear me.

It seems very obvious that Russians should not be allowed to leave there own country because their are stories after stories about them all breaking the laws here somewhere, they do not believe in obeying the laws in this country or any other they go to,, this Russian should be sent to prison then deported for life, I would like to know what would happen if we all went over to Moscow and started kicking the <deleted> out of scumbag Russians in red square

He should make his apology in court before sentencing and deportation.

Yeah.

Being deaf will not give him any immunity for senseless violence.

Make him do his time and face expulsion to the hellish homeland from which he escaped.

A draft refugee got himself  out of Green Zone.

What an idiot...

The Ukrainian question.

The Thai's pleas for mercy fell on deaf ears.😉

Russians, Russians again, they flew to Thailand in order not to fight against Ukraine, instead, they keep their native violence for thai people ! BoI should restrict thai visa for Russian nationals in age of being sent to war. Maybe also part of them ' are the ex-prisonners, criminals, high violent profiles, sent from jail to the front and liberated by Wagner group and Putin, they don' t want them anymore in Rusia so they are sent and welcome  in complete liberty in Thailand... I think that Thailand should screen much more it's tourists certainly originally from countries in war. Maybe the proposed screening starting as a pilot from December is a good start..

Though they are bringing some money in, the influx of Russians was probably the worst thing to ever happen to Thailand in the last 50 years. With the open arms, open legs policy, the government has essentially invited in the Russian Bratva, the Chinese Triads and all kinds of other miscreants, who are likely attempting to take over from the local mafias.

This kind of stuff is just not going to stop, and the police can't do much about it. It's a courageous thing that this guy is doing, a Wai doesn't mean much after the fact, neither does a small pittance of cash.

  • Popular Post

He should leave the matter to the police so that the Russian can be jailed and then deported. This is clearly not the Russian's first time being violent. He can apologize,  fine, but he should still be jailed.

Would like to see more people refusing the playoffs from those who assault. Let the criminals face the penalties of the criminal justice system.
