I only go to the same massage lady that I have been seeing for over a decade when I am in Phuket, no boom boom, strictly a genuine massage, by a qualified masseuse.

I aim for dinner around 6, then back to my hotel room for a nap of between 1-2 hours, shower, then out I go to the drop off point, i.e. opposite Bangla Road (away from the Beach Road end).

I just hang there as the motorbike taxis, drop off the girls going to work, and when I spot one that's up to my standard, I will follow that a$$ down Bangla Road until she goes into the bar that she works, I will do a round and come back in 10 minutes and grab a seat, buy her and myself 2 drinks max, have the small talk, then get down to the business side of things, by then it's about 10pm and we are off to the hotel, by 11.00 - 11.30 dessert has been served and I show her out, shower, then in bed by midnight.

Cost is usually around 3,000 baht excluding my drinks and I am satisfied.

Noise, well depends on the bar, no pressure to buy lady drinks, I offer when I order my own drink, no pressure to take the girl back as I know what I want, and have never been knocked back.

I can understand what your friend is doing, but as someone else mentioned, those mattresses and girls have more than likely seen more sex than your hotel room.

Like I said in the beginning, each to their own, been there, done that and just didn't feel clean for me.

I don't know if it's a loophole but it is certainly very convenient and it does bypass a lot of the hassle and expense of dealing with the bar girl. Sometimes I will just approach a massage lady that is really hot, and before we even go upstairs I'll negotiate the entire package. Once you lay down they kind of have you at their mercy.

You get way more takers at the end of the month when bills are due.

That way you skip the bar fine, lady drinks and massage costs.

Better still ask if they do home visits most will say yes but it's an extra 300 baht and at least you are in the comfort of your own home that's what I do, why pay out money for drinks or a bar fine and you struggle to get it up because you've had a belly full of beer you can't beat a good mid-morning or mid-afternoon massage the most I ever paid for a complete home visit of 2 beautiful hours was a 1,000 baht and if I want her to come back a 200 baht tip. Happy Days

You didn't mention where specifically in Thailand your friend goes. In Chiang Mai, in my experience, the best you can hope for at the massage shop is manual stimulation. If you want intercourse, you have to meet later at your place or a hotel. I've never heard of intercourse as a feature of the massage itself. Also, the price for the aforementioned manual stimulation is from 1,500 baht to 3,000 baht, including the price of the oil massage itself. Your friend is getting off incredibly inexpensively if he is paying only 1,000 baht for intercourse. Could you tell us where he goes so we might also enjoy such a great bargain price?

What a load of BS, it is one of the cheapest and most dull red light areas in Thailand after CR or some other city in Isaan. It's hard to even get going with spending money there, all you find is overweight and 30-40+ girls.
