It is suspected that her erratic behaviour was triggered by a combination of her pre-existing medical condition and an excessive amount of cannabis.

 

Police are continuing to investigate the incident and ensure the well-being of the tourist.

just a scottish nutter who got stoned an forgot to take her meds. Awful place scotland , highest drug related death rate in the developed world, and those who haven't turned to Heroin or Fentanyl are loaded up legally on prescription gear , Tranquilisers and anti depressents  are handed out like candy and some have been using them for 20 or 30 years or more.  

 So nothing to do with cannabis and everything to do with a psychotic woman forgetting to take her liquid kosh and treating others to a glimpse of her real self, and being scottish she was probably drunk as well, it was around mid day so she had plenty of time to load up 

People who have a history of mental illness running in their family can get a psychosis from smoking weed. It's a miniscule percentage of people this happens to, but that's why cannabis got reclassified in the UK from a class 5 to a class 2 drug about 10 or 15 years ago.

So, she got too high, went into her room, wasn't in any danger, wasn't causing any problems so her friend asked the hotel staff to get involved, they called the police who showed up and freaked the woman out and caused her to have a panic attack.

The story should have stopped at "isolated herself in her room".

I never understood why people need drugs to enjoy a good life in Thailand.  I do enjoy a beer from time to time but I am not ready for cannabis.
