Going to Thailand for Surgery
Yeah, I guess there is always risk but It's a fairly renowned surgeon I'm going to and his results have been, from what I've seen anyway, pretty amazing. It's UK prices cheap but still many thousands of pounds I've paid. It will actually be the most expensive single purchase I have ever made. I was looking at insurance too, there is only one insurance company I've found that covers surgical procedures too, so I'd imagine I'd end up going with them and it seems a comprehensive cover too. Thanks for the advice 😄 -

Man, 51, Found Dead in Pickup Truck in Samut Prakan
Picture from responders. In the early hours of 10 January, Pol. Col. Sophon Mongkolsophonrat, Superintendent of Bang Sao Thong Police Station, along with forensic officers and the Poh Teck Tung Foundation rescue team, responded to a report of a man found dead in a pickup truck in Bang Sao Thong, Samut Prakan. The incident occurred on a roadside in a community near the Saothong Klang intersection, adjacent to Bang Na Garden Soi 7. At the scene, police discovered a silver Toyota pickup truck with a sticker advertising emergency transformer repair services on the windshield. The driver's side door was open. Inside, the lifeless body of Mr. Thammarong, aged 51, a resident of Bang Phli District, Samut Prakan, was found in the driver's seat. He was slumped against the backrest, with blood spattered on the door and dashboard. A physical examination revealed a gunshot wound to the right side of his chest. A locally-made short-barrelled shotgun was found on the ground beside the driver's door. Police collected gunpowder residue and other evidence for forensic analysis before transferring the body to the forensic unit at Ramathibodi Chakri Naruebodindra Medical Institute for an autopsy. Preliminary investigations suggest the man took his own life. However, authorities plan to interview the deceased's family to determine the circumstances leading to the incident. CCTV footage from the area showed the Toyota pickup driving from the Saothong Land area and turning onto the road at 04:19. It parked by the roadside at 04:27. Shortly after, the driver's door opened, and officers believe the man took his own life at this time. The footage showed no other vehicles or individuals in the vicinity during the incident. It wasn't until over an hour later that early commuters began passing through the area. A motorcyclist discovered the scene and immediately alerted police early this morning. Further investigations are ongoing. If you or anyone you know is in emotional distress, please contact the Samaritans of Thailand 24-hour hotline: 02 713 6791 (English), 02 713 6793 (Thai) or the Thai Mental Health Hotline at 1323 (Thai). Trench Collapse Traps Worker at Construction Site in Sri Racha
Picture from responders. A construction worker has been seriously injured after being trapped by a trench collapse at Sri Racha-Nong Kho Road, Nong Kham Subdistrict, Sri Racha District, Chonburi. The incident took place near Wat Nong Kho, where a large section of earth slid down, burying the man from the waist down. His chest was also struck by a metal pipe during the collapse. Emergency services were called to the scene shortly after the collapse occurred. A rescue team from the Phuea Yieng Thai organisation arrived to assist the victim, who was identified as a 44-year-old male. His colleagues at the site had already begun digging to free him before the rescuers arrived. Despite the efforts to lift the earth, the man was reported to be experiencing severe chest tightness, prompting his immediate treatment by medics. After administering initial first aid to stabilise the worker, he was eventually dug out by hand, taking about 30 minutes and transported to Phyathai Sriracha Hospital, for further medical attention. His condition was described as stable. Local authorities, including the Nong Kham Police Station, have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the trench collapse, and it is initially believed that the collapse may have been caused by unstable soil in the area and lack of adequate shoring of the trench sides, to cope with this type of soil conditions. -- 2025-01-11 -

Going to Thailand for Surgery
Just don't go putting them in less than sanitary places ( nudge nudge ) and you should be fine with that time. I hope you didn't go for the cheap end surgery, if you want a good result. In LOS you get what you pay for. Have good travel insurance in case of unexpected complications. No surgery is 100% guaranteed to not have complications, which is why you have to sign a release before the operation.- 1
