Spike in American's interest in moving abroad post election -- hot air yet again?

Thailand isn't high on the list of searched destinations.

As far as moving here it will continue to be about retirement, digital nomads, people with Thai relatives or lovers, etc. as opposed to politically motivated moves which may I remind you is the topic here.

I'm going to take a wild guess, not so wild, that you reported my last reply to you, and got deleted.  So I think we may go back to ignoring each other.

Even if these hot air talkers are planning to leave America, the moment of truth will be soon soon soon when Donald John Trump stock (DJT) meets its maker in real time NOW at the 200-day exponential moving average (green line in chart)

See the LOVE of Trump investors in the spectacular Volume (light grey vertical bars).  These guys are betting big on Donald.

Institutional investors worldwide will be piling on in stampedes if/when the stock conquers the 200-day and zooms north.

It will be a beautiful day for Donald but a day of consternation for the LEAVERS

LEAVERS being hot air obviously are totally clueless that DJT currently sits on the Golden Ratio 61.8% retracement.

Just below this level is 78.6% backup support for Donald.

Its not up to ME but I sure as heck want DJT to soar

Its going to be an exciting 4 years & knowing Donald’s style he might change the Big C and rule like Puton - Forever!!!

That should read PUTIN, Vlade Putin, a soon to be beer buddy of Donald.

LEAVERS will be even more demoralized when Vlade & Donald become pals.

Kiss the war in You-krane goodbye.  It will end soon.

Ditto for Israel/Hamas/Hez et al.

Leavers will gawk in awe but will find a way to criticize these momentous events

I'll be moving back to Texas as soon as I can re-establish there, as it's a much better place for me and my daughter to live. I lived in Texas before here and I'm not a Trump supporter, but that has nothing to do with where I live anyway. I doubt many are going to move from the US because of this election. Just talk.

Gawd, you gotta be pretty shallow to move out of your country based on this kind of thing. How is it affecting one directly? There are also people of generally sound mind (I know some) that will not travel to the US because a certain person is in office. I mean, what the actual F? Sorry, but it is just puerile stuff. If a load of Americans do move out, although I've nowt against them, please consider somewhere other than here. Can't have too much of that mindset here.

Speaking as an expat who didn't move based on U.S. politics (I liked the situation at the time I left) we're seeing once again the threats of leaving and verifiable interest in actually doing so.

But will more than usual actually do so?

I would predict because the maga movement has revealed itself as not a fluke, that more than usual will actually move abroad this time, but no spectacular numbers.

This time is different, but moving abroad is still the big flippin' deal it always has been, and most people are all hat no cattle about it.

I do think there will be a spike in state self sorting though, a big trend already happening.

In other words, people feeling red moving to red states, people feeling blue moving to blue states.

That happened dramatically in Florida already.

In the linked article, THAILAND was the 23rd most popular search choice. Canada number one of course. Americans can be so predictable sometimes.

I think many Americans will want to go back home soon now America about to become great again

What is this kind of an idiot response ?  I am just sharing an information.  49 is the number of your cell ?

Yes it is a response to your sharing an idiot one at that!  I don't see how your response has any relevant even if Musk daughter was important and famous!  Just as relevant and idiotic why you would even ask if 49 is my number to my cell!

I guess your response had to be done twice since you most likely didn't have a clue as to what you wrote the first time!😂

What larger group you talking about or is there really one!

My decision to retire abroad was economics based. I was outpriced from having an earned working middle class retirement in the USA based on my sustainable monthly budget of $2400 usd ($1570 of that from SS). There is another concern for those of us already abroad, challenges to our right to vote from abroad, a challenge to Social Security to do like the U.K. does and freeze COLA adjustments of citizens outside US territory … afterall we are already denied Medicare benefit if outside US territory (except if fully retired US military even though both of us continue to pay the Part B monthly premium).

yes, feel alienated by trump and move to TH where you have ZERO rights and benefits... that would make sense...

Ah, been here 13 years … not feeling the pain? Instead benefitted from being an economic refugee from the USA.

Moving abroad is not so simple, really.  Easy to sit around and think about it, and yet it's something else again to actually do it.  Selling real estate, selling cars, selling all your "junk." Maintaining a storage POD if there are things you want to keep. Bank account issues. Taxation issues.  Medical considerations for some people.

True and yet doable with some planning. Happy with my decision to retire here in 2011.

Thailand American leavers, don’t leave.  😁

The Baht is in our favor now.  I believe a bottom in USD-THB is in. A downwave is possible but we are close to taking off again.

I like your optimism about the dollar.  You never know.

They say that for various reasons we're about to witness a worldwide dollar shortage that could launch the dollar into the stratosphere.  Before it crashes.  I think we're a few years out from a major crash, though.

As for people leaving America because of Trump?  Not many of the nutcases will do that just for political reasons.  You'd be surprised.  Even so-called smart people don't really know anything about Thailand. Their idea of escape is Mexico. Maybe Panama. And they'd be doing that for economic reasons, although even Mexico is now wising up and they've raised the requirements for a permanent residence visa.

In any case there will be fever reasons now for right wing  Americans to move to Russia for political reasons.

Disagree, Sir 😏

Spike in Russia interest/travel expected soon after Vlade, Donald & Zelly meet over Vodka & beer.  Zelly will be admonished & told no more billions of dollers in aid & no more weaponry.

Money will instead go to solve the homeless crisis on Venice blvd., Los Angeles!  😁😁 Take care of our iwn with treatment, housing, education etc.  Off the streets.

DEALS will be made that WILL stand the test of time.

Americans will flock to Russia.

Makes no sense. Americans looking for a right wing dystopia can now stay at home.

Thailand as mentioned before is not high on the list of target countries for those thinking about moving abroad because of the election results.

Russia will replace Thailand when Americans get a load of the sophistication in Russian women.  Thailand & Russia top-notch women in both countries, both in the exotic band, variant in beauty self-evident

Have a look at Alina.   Donald gave her a straight 10+

Stratospheric launch of King Dollar vs ALL is my call.  Even the gnomes of Switzerland will take a hit by USD-CHF.   USD Trend since March 2008 low is UP.  I’m  a Trend Surfer 😁

I’ve been on the right side of Dollar/Baht.  Luck has a lot to do with it too.  The physical universe finds it hard to punish a felliw with the formula,  USA + Thailand = a match made in Heaven 😁

Americans expating in Mexico, Panama, Costa Rica ….   Poor fellas, they don’t know what WE Thailand expats know.  Been to all thise places, Chiang Mai blows them sky high.

LOS in 2006-2010:

Aussies, Brits et al were hammering Americans back in 2006 & 2007 stating our currency was akin to toilet paper.  We took that punishment.  It was painful & demoralizing

My only help to the fellas was, “the King will turn and when he does ……. “

The rest is History

Back in 2008 after Lucifer reversed Trend & sped north hardly even a few noticed that The Twin Towers were running the show while all else was collapsing.  Twin Towers were Dollar & Yen

Then Gold ran the show into 2011
