The articles are opinion pieces which acknowledge trump's win by Electoral College, but in their opinion does not equate to a large mandate as claimed by trump as he he has received less than 50% of the overall votes; very easy to comprehend accept by MAGA world. On the other side of the coin the Dems are not claiming fraud, corruption etc for their loss as trump has done with 2020 results and still does.

Trump got similar votes to 2020 whereas Harris got 15million less than 20, if Trump was still hilter where did those 15 million haters go?

They lost Because they couldn't cheat by using mass unverified mail in ballots

I get the feeling he might actually do it.  They say it isn't worth much in its present form.  Anyway, if he doesn't the entire network may be history before too long.

An opinion piece and the woke BBC. Talk about grasping at straws. Sorry but the thread you've started lacks any credibility.

They don't like Trump, he's a threat to the political class and wants to reform the institutions that comprise the trough they've been feeding at for decades ... this sums up the medias hand wringing and yours it seems.

Are you old enough to remember when Bill Clinton won the election with a mere 43% of the popular vote back in 1992?  They liked Clinton and Time magazine called it a "Mandate for Change".

Regardless of what you read, Trump has a mandate too.

Trump wants to make changes that help him and his billionaire cronies. Not for the people. He has very clearly indicated he wants to rule as an autocratic dictator. That is the opposite of reform. It's the roadway to an America that is like Putin's Russia.

You cant point to any changes proposed by Trump that will help his "billionaire cronies" at the expense of the American people.

Not one.

As usual, your post is nothing but lying Leftist propaganda

snipped for brevity. Your first point is rather odd comment considering trump is nominating people from the "political class", albeit a number from the Project 2025 group about which he previously lied. Given trump has indicated he wishes to disband some institutions e.g. DoE, again rather odd to claim he wishes to reform. It's trump claiming he has a major mandate so no comparison to your Clinton comment.. Depends how one measures such a claim, personally I would think the correct measurement would be by the popular vote, which I understand is less that 50% for trump. Even if trump receives a "mandate" by popular vote I do believe it will a decision deeply regretted in the coming years.

Trump is the only president in modern times who left office with less than he started with, he did not even take a salary. Your poster boy Obama went from just over 1 million to 70 million 8 years later. Trump has only indicated he wants to be a dictator in your obsessed mind.

Nice to see so many muslims voting for Trump, they are for family values, anti baby murder, trans waffle and wokeism.

Rubbish....  The vote was never close and Trump's mandate was very clear. Like or loath it his election promises where very clear throughout his campaign.

What worries the Dems is you will have a President than keeps his promises.

How strong his mandate is, is a matter of opinion. The GOP controls the house, the senate and the whitehouse. They also have a right leaning SCOTUS. The question is can they act in lock step like the dems did before them? If they do the mandate is huge. If not, well the GOP has had this situation and bungled it before.

However the GOP does seem to be in supercharged mode right now.

I await the appointment process. There appear to be real limitations in the Republican Senators who will not throw over country interests in naming incompetence to Cabinet posts as those choices will have real consequence to the county.

Awww... Look at you retreating to the true space of losers - "norms, rules, traditions"... Play to win of GFY because the fascists will exploit every single one of your "norms, rules, traditions" and then eradicate you entirely.

Absolutely correct. However 47% did not. What about them? I believe they should open up all ballots and anyone not voting for Trump should be relocated to Mexico or Canada.

Hey lookie, that's not a floating turd, it's Soviet Central planning. I just heard a flush, oh look, here comes transgender worship stuck to that hunk of Charmin. And I will say that new Jaguar commercial sure looks like somebody was sticking a Dipper down there in the cesspool

The only "screeching and babbling" on here is coming from MAGAs. Is this because your cult leader's "landslide" win was nothing of the sort. In fact the narrowest winning margin since 1880.

Hardly a mandate.

I'm wondering how long it takes Jaguar to wake up and realize that the kind of people who buy Jaguars probably won't appreciate the nutty brand makeover, and it's certainly not going to sell any cars.  Who owns the company these days?

Don't know why Jaguar are advertising at all, they don't even have a new car to sell at the moment. Yes, in case you didn't guess, the new advert is all about cars!

The public's already seen what Dems regard as competent and the mess they've inflicted on the country. They voted for Trump and his policies (the Repub Party platform). Accordingly the Repub senators will vote for Trump's choices.

In a regular confirmation, Dems would claim all are incompetent no matter who they are, for the purpose of obstruction. The propaganda media you read will always claim the same thing. The underlying worry is that the established patronage and money flows will be disrupted. We understand that in Thailand, but not in our own countries.

Trump's handling of his presidential transition gets approval from most Americans overall and brings near-universal approval from his voters, along with a net-positive response about his selections for Cabinet posts, in particular, Sen. Marco Rubio, who is Trump's pick to be secretary of state.

As the election winner is based on the absurd electoral votes system, the percentage of votes cast for any particular party is irrelevant.

Not sure it's that ridiculous, unless you think the packed masses living in the city should have the right to tell the rural farmers and land owners what to do.

Off topic,

Meanwhile back in the UK, the lefty Labour expert 'economist' running the UK finances appears to have lied on her CV and was only ever a bank helpline manager.

What you call the 'mess [Dems] have inflicted on the country' is what others call growth and low unemployment.

To remind those who truly need reminding:

Biden inherited 6.8% UE and a Recession. US growth since 2020 is running 3 times the average of G7 nations. UE is ~4%. Name a country that has done better since 2020.

45, soon to be 47, inherited a growing economy and 4.8% UE from Obama. He was a disaster in terms of the economy, and FAILED---in 4 years, with 2 of those years accompanied by a Republican House and Senate---to get an Infrastructure Bill passed. Biden got it done with bipartisan support. Oh, and 45 was the first President since Herbert Hoover to leave office with fewer Americans employed than when he took office. Those enamored of Hoover will probably love 47.

If failure and economic decline is what those in the cult want again, I have no doubt 47 will give it to you in spades. The guy failed 6 times trying to run businesses---casinos---where losers actually stand in line to give you their money, yet he could not pull that off. The self-proclaimed 'successful businessman' is only not pouring Slurpies in a 7-11 on an Interstate highway because his daddy not only gave/willed him over $500,000,000, but co-signed all of his loans back when decent banks still loaned him money (vs the SIVs using Russian oligarch money structured by Deutsche Bank, and bragged about by both Uday and Qusay Jr & Punxsutawney Eric.)

Admittedly, when Mark Burnett made him a Game Show Host the guy finally made some money as well as becoming a hero to the forlorn. His leaked tax returns show just how UNsuccessful the blowhard was---even with his daddy's help. His years of constant hyperbole and self-promotion---which was a running joke for years in NYC and Wall Street circles---just goes to show Abraham Lincoln was dead right: "You can fool some of the people all of the time".

What his cult fails to realize is that the world has changed in ways that make unskilled human labor as cheap as last week's losing Powerball ticket, and there is absolutely nothing 47 can do to change that, other than offer false hope to those the modern world has left behind. They are about to learn the harsh reality.

Two types of people were beneficiaries of the booming Biden economy: those with marketable skills and talents, and those who can never have enough, and thus voted for 47 so that they get yet more tax breaks like 'carried interest', the deficit be damned. Call this latter group the New Robber Barons, as wealth and political clout has accumulated in the hands of the elite in ways unseen since J.D. Rockerfeller, the Melons, Fricks and Carnegies. Today their names are Musk, Thiel, Griffin, Ackman, etc. They ain't you, and they ain't "the poorly educated" 47 claims to love so much, only so long as he needs their votes.

When I see people who champion 47 as some great and powerful wizard, I know those are folks who missed out on the Biden Boom. It's a simple equation: love 47 = You failed. That they so regularly broadcast their failure by championing 47 is an odd thing, but it's most definitely a "tell".

Sorry if you missed out on the Biden Booming Economy. It was so easy to make money and sock it away. In fact, not only is consumer spending up, but also consumer savings. Those who can do; those who cannot voted for 47.

That was the last chance to make hay while the sun shined, because it's not Reagan's "Morning in America", but as all will soon see, it's Mourning in America. The carnage is coming. Act accordingly.

Right because the billionaire donor class wouldn't have had Kamala in their pocket. Love the liberals and their take on money. Republicans go from knuckle dragging poverty infested Walmart shoppers to the rich elite depending on which scrip they read from.
