Trump has a huge ego. He won't ask Musk for advice - at least most of the time.

And Trump likes to shoot from the hip.

I am sure he will f@# up many times.

Luckily, I am not an American and I can watch this soap opera from far away.

Possibly, but a $44 billion plus investment in to Trump's "success" carries a lot of weight and no doubt huge payback for the assist!

Your opinions offer nothing. As you are not American please refrain from cluttering the thread with your thoroughly unqualified view of American politics.

The President-elect clearly does not like the very first thing Madison and Jefferson put into the US Constitution, which just happens to be called the First Amendment.

He does not like Freedom of Speech, absolutely does not like Freedom of the Press, and neither does he like the Right to Peaceful Assembly nor Freedom of Religion.

He posted and spoke of ABC and CBS having their licenses to broadcast revoked, he said he does not want journalists to be free from revealing sources. He has made threats against journalists and TV Talking Heads who criticized him. You might also recall that he ordered stormtroopers to use violence and gas to break up a 100% peaceful protest in Lafayette Park, just so he could go hold a Christian Bible upside down in front of a Christian church as a photo op. Just in that act alone he showed his disdain for parts of the First Amendment (Peaceful Assembly and Religious Freedom). Only fools would think that performance art had any meaning to him other than pandering to the Christian Nationalists, with a shout out to fascists.

His cult will come in and diss this, perhaps fabricating some 'alternative facts' or maybe try to play the whataboutism game, but as usual, they will be dead wrong and they're heads full of fever swamp vapors, altering whatever rational judgement they might ever have had, if indeed any of them ever did or ever understood the ideals upon which the United States was based.

I forgive you for this comment.

One wonders how it will float with Free Speech, does it mean a step closer to an authoritarian government?

Only if he can convince all the states that the constitution should be abandoned.

If trump has decided upon an authoritarian path, don't think he  and his enablers will give a @*^# about the Constitution.

The US is very large and Trumps acolytes small in number. That is why he would need the military and the military will arrest him if he tried to get them to contravene the constitution.

Do you Trump haters ever think about what you say?

You make a number of assumptions with trump who is on his way to appoint people whose first loyalty is to him, not the constitution. One only has to read history to recognise what trump is trying to do. Best to wait and see a few years to see what progress he's making with the undermining of us institutions. which he has sworn to do.

Lefties only have themselves to blame. Trump has all this power now only because your ideology has failed so spectacularly

To correct you - only MAGA enablers to blame

You are free to whine after Trump's term is finished. In the meantime please refrain from ridiculously wild speculation. Contrary to your belief there are many constitutional absolutists left of centre.

There will be many lawsuits waged against Trump's administration. None will be over the constitution.

We are free to express our opinions on this platform. Oh and BTW whining volume  can easily be claimed by MAGA world.

The two are absolutely not mutually exclusive. Last time Trump drew from old DC hands and his admin was turned into chaos. This time he knows better.

He's already dipping way to deep into the swamp. If they work against him you're not going to like their replacements.

The beatings will continue until the morale improves

I'm not sure what this means. Surely it's denial and more inability to accept the lefts failed agenda and execution
